Brand New lvl1 - What To Do First?

It seems like the easiest route is to level the char a bit to unlock some aetherytes. Then, it'd be possible to run a quest, grind or fate profile because they usually have the prerequisite.

Are there any recommended intro profiles to use to start leveling a char? I've scanned through the available options, but there's a plethora. I'd prefer a grind profile to start as it seems simplest. It looks like the Official Questing Pack might be a good option, but does it require any aetherytes to be unlocked?

I have experience in programming, so once I get started, I can begin recording profiles to share.

Check out my tutorial in my signature, there are links to grind profiles, and a profile that will run around unlocking atherytes if you have not unlocked any of them already. The main scenario quests are key to final fantasy so this will needed to be completed to unlock most game content. If you haven't already take a read through it and if you have any specific questions you can messages me as I still remember what it was like to start out!

Check out tiesto's tutorial. Outside of that, I could not emphasize the above enough! Main scenario quests (GE Wiki) are essentially the mandatory content to get to the side-quests/additional patches/Heavensward (the expansion)/etc. (see all quest types here: GE Wiki) I would suggest running the 1-15 and 15-50 quest profiles (found here) for your first class (starting from a FRESH character!), then running Fate Bot for additional combat classes. Remember, you can only do the main scenario quests ONCE, so don't try to run the 1-15 or 15-50 quest profiles on additional classes if you've already gone through them all on a previous (or your first) class.

In addition to getting all of the main scenario quests done, you'll want to:

• Unlock all of the Aetherytes (GE Wiki),
• unlock as many items in the Duty Finder (GE Wiki) as you can (some are through side-quests),
• use the Fate Bot to level additional combat classes,
• and run the Miner, Botanist and Fisher 1-50 leveling and questing profiles found here for Miner and Botanist (Fisher is being worked on in this topic as well) and here for Fisher.

Once you're done with that, feel free to browse the plugin and profiles sections for further things to do with your character.

I have higher lvl chars in the game, but I'm not tying botted accounts to my main, so that's the reason they start fresh.

Dgame, it appears you've amassed plenty of posts that are requesting help. Why not consider providing some?

why is this so much more complicated wowbuddy had all this built in right away, questing was in there default and worked amazingly i ahve no idea how to get the leveling part of this bot to work.

Create a folder in your Rebornbuddy/Profiles folder called "Questing"
Right click on this new folder, then click "SVN Checkout"

Never shows up for me, in my rebornbuddy folder there is no profiles folder called questing

Because both WoW and HB have had years to develop features and userbases, while FFXIV and RB have not. There are many more HB devs than RB devs, so if you're expecting the same content for this bot, you'll be sorely disappointed. That being said, the leveling pack is right there, and obviously the instructions work for everyone who doesn't need their hand held.

again i did this, im not sure why i cant get a single profile or feature of this bot to work, glad i did the 2 day trial because theres not much support.

 

There's plenty of support. What you're describing isn't very helpful and by default, should be attributed to user error on your part.

1. Download and extract RebornBuddy.
2. Download and extract the 1-50 questing pack, or checkout the SVN to a "Profiles" folder.
3. Run RebornBuddy and input your key.
4. Select Order Bot as the botbase and Load Profile -> choose the 1-15 starting zone your character is in.
5. When the 1-15 profile completes, load the 15-50 profile.
6. Congrats on your level 50.

If you have any SPECIFIC problem, post in the appropriate topic, or post in the SUPPORT forum. ALWAYS provide a log (.txt file) from your Logs folder if/when you have an issue.

 

I'm having an issue where I am using a fresh lvl 1, and when I choose the 1-15 profile, I am often finding my character sitting at a cutscene and some red text saying "cannot do that while occupied" or something (sorry, im at work right now and cant check

Is this a common problem? I'd be happy to find out how to upload a log, but I don't know how, and as I said im at home. any quick fixes to this? I am really enjoying FFXIV so far on my toon thats not being botted.

 

I believe this happens it just doesn't always skip the cut scenes.

 

What about gear, should we buy the gear ahead of time and RB or OrderBot equips the new gear upon reaching the proper level?

 

For me it happens almost every cutscene, and makes it leaving my bot alone almost impossible. One night I left it overnight and it must have gotten stuck on the first cutscene I was still lvl 2.

 

You could do this and use the Agil plugin to auto equip, unless they built that into RB while I was on vacation.
