Leveling + Kicks + Hardcoded waypoints = Ban?

1. Reading ban reports, i found many correlations to Kicks profile levelling in Hyjal, then people got ban.

This string is from log file(points defined also in [Fly][N - Quest] Hyjal 80-82 [Kick].xml):

3. So, if on server side we can log where, in which points player dismounted(for example) or stopped, we can track player movements.
Then, if "player" visit this predefined points in some time frame, with 99% confidence we can determine it is a bot. Because no human can visit same points

4. Conclusion: bot need randomization in movements between hardcoded points. this can be done by adding some small random +- correction to coordinates.

 

I agree. This sounds very plausible.

 

dude, how about people banned by using enyo ?

 

Perhaps it's one of the ways you could be detected.
I do not use any scripted behaviour, only the rotation, and still got banned.
The way Blizzard detects HB, obviously goes much deeper.

I think he means the bans after the banwave and I find his theory to be plausible. It would explain why people using Kicks leveling profiles got hit. Add a flag to the account and it's pretty much a done deal.

Afaik no one using Enyo + custom CRs has been banned so far but I might be wrong.

 

I think the bigger thing here is that, again, this is not a new proposal of what has happened. Simple heuristics can tell blizz that x stopped and done y at z. HB is *suppose* to have some amount of randomization built into it. *shrug* Can't really tell myself as i haven't used kicks profiles in years, purely due to my paranoia, and generally in the last couple of years when i press start i pay very little attention.

Now, i do still get banned because of 5 man Dungeon farming etc. But up until the so-called 'detection' a couple of weeks ago, no, not because of profile related issues.

And yeah, People using Enyo etc. also got hit But did they use something else before using those bots/CRs?

 

been using kicks forever (and now), Yes I got caught in the Banwave but other than that, NEVER been banned.

 

Ok, seems some GM is messing with random suspensions here and there. If the Kicks questing patterns were really detected, we could have at least a few thousands of bans.

But I have to admit, the OP's words have sense, even after it sounds technically hard for Blizz to process such data, it doesnt look impossible.

 

It's looking that way. The swingers/sheep will deny it but I think close to 100% of the recent bans are due to such. No doubt they detect in multiple ways but I'm confident they also have an algorithm now in place which checks waypoints and quest order etc.

Randomization is one of many things we have asked for since time immorial but since the bans were limited up until now it was apparently a waste of time (money) to work on.

I know should i come back I won't be questing atleast with kicks which is a bummer considering. One more account one more time and it will be time to hang up wow for good. Shame nothing to replace it will be around until 2017

 

I bottet with another bot vor the last 7 days... 2 days ago i used honorbuddy again with 3 bots... 2 were doing ashran, 1 were questing from 51-60. after lvl 60 i logged to an other lvl 90 farm char @ the same account the lvl 60 char was on... this char was banned 2 hours ago.. the other 2 bots still going strong... 3 different battle net accounts. only the one with the char which was questing is banned...

 

botted from lvl 56 to 92 with kicks, No ban so far )

 

Has nothing to do with Kicks. I got banned with Giwins. HB is just detected that is all.

 

Do you have static ip?
You were banned very fast... it seems strange.
Maybe a GM monitored the starting area. By the way what class/race you were leveling?

 

Yea i have a static ip. I was leveling a Worgen Warrior with Kicks in the start zone, then Giwin until i got banned in Loch Modan.

 

Try again, same thing but with my new guide etc. Don't use kicks and see what happens although I'm quite sure that profiles aren't to blame and just general scripts aimed at questing bots.
