I got banned for 72 hours on my EU wow account by using the ashran bot while I had another account running in the same raid doing the exact same things. I guess I got reported. My question is can I start botting again 24/7 when the ban is lifted or do Blizzard check my account more often after the ban is lifted? And if I get banned second time permanent will it effect my other wow's connected to the battle.net account? hope you guys can help me out.
My personal experience is it makes no difference. Keep botting after the 72h but don't do a 24/7 session... that's asking for it.
truth is nobody knows but at the same time it seems logical that they would check up on repeat offenders. biggest thing is I wouldn't bot something like ashran where you are extremely visible if you are concerned with losing the account.
If you have multiple accounts connected to the one battle.net it will only affect the account you got caught on your wow1 wow2 or how ever you have it set up will be fine.
The 6 months was during the ban wave. Most ppl getting bans now are slapped with either 72hrs or perma/account closure. Not sure why Blizz is differentiating between the wave and now, but they obviously are....
The question is not so "hard" The 6 months is a "business / marketing" penalty, the Closure/72h are regular GM policy penalties.
It might not be a 72 hour ban. Blizz will frequently give an initial ban of 72h and then that will be changed to a permanent ban. It is my understanding that there is some type of tier system with GMs and only higher tier GMs can do permabans. The 72hr ban is just to have the account reviewed by a higher tier GM. I'm not saying that happens every time, but I have read about several people getting 72hr bans and then that being changed to a permaban a day or two later.
I wrote to them asking for a shorten punishment as many are geting 72h, they just cancel my tickets... i never saw a firm pissing big time for their costumers, even if they cheat, they still got cash, and they could just put a red flag on the account for 1 year and see if we behave...
