After my previous accounts were banned, I reinstalled Windows on virtual machines and downloaded new WoW clients, got new IP addresses, and created 2 new accounts yesterday. These were still starter edition accounts and had been questing for under 24 hours when they were banned today for abuse of the economy. How could Blizzard have banned starter edition accounts so fast? I had a new virtual machine install, new Windows, new WoW installation, new IP address. All of my hardware and software identifiers were new. The accounts had only leveled to around 15 in 10-15 hours of uptime before they got banned.
Don't think association had anything to do with it. I think we are still as detectable as ever via whatever means they're favoring (orders or waypoints/repetition of some sort if I had to guess - or they have a hard detection and are being slow and random to throw us off). Bans haven't been in massive volumes but they've been steady and enough to keep (atleast me) extrodinarily uncomfortable). I guess time will tell but once more and that's it for me which is depressing. Like a real mmorpg player from the days of old, this genre is less of a game and more of a home to me which is already tough enough with world of noobthemeparkextrodinaire. Never mind tossing 50 bucks at blizzard like it's going out of style. All I can say is good luck and don't expect years trouble free this time I reckon. blizz wants that token moolah! That's the only sense I can make for the super botting enforcement 10 years late. Coulda been atleast a bit Better of a game had they done It long ago. Now it's just pissing a good chunk of the players they have left off.
Update: Opened a ticket and a GM re-opened my account. The account was closed for a different reason and not b/c of Honorbuddy. HB is not detected.
Wild guess......V P N? If so, be really careful. Reopening the account won't unflag it. I was banned within 2 days after botting with these reopened accounts in the past. There is not a lot you can do about it. Two options 1) stop using VPN's altogether 2) Hire an expensive VPN service that warrants dedicated and NEW Ip's. Some of them will assign a range of Ip's for you; those could be the safest, but also costly.
Excuse me, but how you do level a toon to lvl 15 "for under 24 hours"? Plus it DOES matter howmany accounts you were running in the same time from the machine (virtual or not - doesnt matter) With 2-3 it is common to get away, but with 5-10, its much harder!
I'm going to make a wild assed scientific guess here: The bot is detectable and anyone running it since the banwave is taking their account's life in their hands. It's a shame, but pretty much seems to be the state of things.
This is fine, but the major one was "under 24 hours for lvl 15". Since its supposed to level to 15 in less than 2 hours.
Or they Monitor on what order you take and turn in Quests and in what Time you complete them and with what Class
Blizzard blacklist & BANHAMMER paypals for refunds and chargebacks (me paypal 2 months ago)... "you can changue your name, your credit card or email" but still cancel your payments, mounts, wod, battlechests.... - maybe can blacklist or watching you payment methods for other imformation; maybe paypal send a client ID???
if people are still getting banned using VM's and V P N's, why do people bother with that stuff anymore?
it just goes to show that VM's, new IP's, VPN's and every other protection scheme does absolutely nothing to protect you in the long run. They aren't worth the effort in setting up, and botting stupid will get you banned anyways.
Because I like privacy and anonymity... (V * * no ban you... "chague ips and location faster"; or "login in diferent country of the account or paymet method", "started accounts + V * * + other things" (because chinesses love lvl 1 and spams in te first 12h and cancell payments) all and others behaviors cause the abuse of economy.....
another kicks banned in the banned forum. scary ass shit. Just got my new account and im extremely hesitant to bother. He barely played/botted and was banned before even hitting 70. w... t... f. "honorbuddy is as safe as it ever was" yea.. okay. perhaps it is and blizzard just never gave a shat before. They sure do now though.
CLICK TO MOVE has never been safe. Ever. Coordinated paths are the easiest to track and ban for and it's the exact same thing as loading Gatherbuddy on your account to farm something. HB is probably OK right now but CR use with manual movement has and always will be the absolute safest option to level any toon. If you're going to risk using CTM on an account, you're taking one of the biggest risks you can possibly take and should never, ever be surprised when you're banned/suspended as a result.
Honorbuddy has ALWAYS had a constant stream of bans. There's no more bans going on at the moment than was happening before the banwave. There's thousands of bots running around at any given time. That's thousands of people not banned, yet people see a few threads in the ban forums and all of a sudden it's the end of the world. You can think that HB is less safe right now, but the simple fact is there's nothing to prove that it actually is less safe.
