WoW Down to 5.6 Million Subscribers Blizzard has their Q2 2015 earnings call today, announcing that WoW is down to 5.6 million subscribers at the end of Q2 2015. I wonder how much the recent banwave of many HB users could impact these figures. Many of HB users received 6 months ban and I will not be surprise than the next ext will be released around the end of the 6 months ban.
I don't know what you people expect. Wow is nowhere near dead, and expecting a game to continuously grow, especially after 10 years, is completely unrealistic. Blizz is not hurting in any way, shape or form. They grew their online presence by over 50% year over year. They're as strong as ever. Wow is still a serious cash cow for them, too. People saying that tokens killed wow, but Blizz is making an extra $5 a month off every token they sell, so it's done nothing but benefited them.
If WoW were a person who was on fire and I had a glass of water. I would drink the water and laugh. (Whether I was thirsty or not.)
OMGWTFBBQ! Only 5.6 MILLION subscribers, WoW must indeed be dying!! Just like all the other MMOs with, like, 500'000 subscribers and still going strong... oh.... wait..... WoW still has over 10 times as many.... As soon as WoW drops below 1M we might start to think about worrying. Until that time, nothing to see here, move along.
I don't think bots is why people are leaving we have always been there us botters, certain kind of botting notably competitive pvp/pve botting is annoying for players. But the reason for the decline is purely cause Wod is lacking.
Completely agree there. In fact, I think that has had a bigger impact in declining numbers than what is commonly thought in this forum. It has to be very disheartening when you play your best , with your mind controlling the movement, enemy skills and your own routine, and you are "beaten" by other people who just have to care about moving. It is, plain and simple, unfair. And yeah, beaten is beaten. There is huge competitiveness also in the PvE raids. That argument of "we are fighting a NPC so when I bot I help my raid" is so false it hurts. In fact, if it weren't for that competitiveness and e-peen measuring, would most people use the CR'S? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't.
Every expansion it's the same... ppl say "this expansion really killed WoW, it's sooooo boring, bad, worthless, I was done with it in 2 months..." blah blah. WoD is not a bad expansion. No expansion has been bad. They may not have brought what YOU enjoyed personally. Not the same thing. When someone is "done" with an expansion, they're done with the few things THEY find interesting in-game. AND they have spent many many hours already playing that expansion. There is much much to do in WoW, every day. I cannot even do my dailies now and then and get my Legendary item+raids done in one week on 2 chars... let alone get reputation, achievements, do the AH for gold and fun, professions etc. You do not like garrisons, raiding, PvE, questing, dailies, but only PvP? Yes, than you're done with WoW quite fast. But then you do not even need expansions and can still play a lvl 19 twink in Vanilla. "WoW is not fun anymore like in Vanilla or TBC". What do you expect? You've grown OLDER about 10 years since then. Your live has (hopefully) changed. Your friends lives, with whom you've raided 20 hours a week, have changed. Pc's got better, PS3 and PS4 came out, graphics got better. You have a wife or husband. You have work now. etc etc. Get my point? WoW is still the same game (basically) since release. It US who've changed. IMO norhing wrong with WoW or the expansions. Just take everything else around it in perspective.
I read about 1/2 your first sentence. I support my statement with evidence. The sub loss this xpac I believe is a direct correlation with my dislike of it. You may disagree but millions of others apparently agree with me.
