As Mario27 said, the DDoS attack is causing an inconvenience for everyone. Intermittently he may yet an authentication error or the above sync error. You will still be able to continue to run HB without too much interruption.
a denial of service attack ... essentialy someone is bombarding the site with requests from zombies ... yes, it's malicious.
It's when someone uses a bunch of compromised computers to flood a server with erroneous packets. The target server and or firewall has to spend so much time handling erroneous requests that real requests get dropped. They are often launched by botnets which are series of compromised machines controlled by one central controller.
Ah okay, yeah it wasn't affecting me too much, but I just saw the error and had no clue what was causing it. Thanks for the great answers .
I'm getting the same error, but instead of it barely effecting the bot, it's completely stopped leveling my priest. Every other class works inclding lower level priests. I've trued everything to default wow settings to re-installing HB fresh, but nothing, and this is the only error I get. Any clues?
I was getting this same thing today. I botted for around 8 hours and got a total of 2 lotus and 8 stacks of herbs in 8 hours ((
I am getting "Unable to connect to the remote server" when trying to authenticate. i can ping auth.gatherbuddy.de and i can log into the web part any ideas?
Usually when I see this its because of a firewall. Do you have any software or hardware firewalls in place?
My hardware firewall (linksys router Firmware: DD-WRT v24 RC-7 (04/24/08) micro ) isn't the issue because everything was working fine yesterday and I had not changed any settings in it. Windows firewall is the same story. Unfortunately it isn't that cause in my case. I'm beginning to think that my ip is now blacklisted for some reason. edit: did a reboot on my router and client machine and no change. please can anyone help me with some more ideas?
Try connecting your computer straight to your modem bypassing your router which will eliminate it being your router.
unfortunatley im unable to do that because i dont have a cable long enough. I would like to try some alternative troubleshooting methods before I execute that procedure. That is definitely something I can try (can you pretend that I did that already and shoot me another suggestion please )
weak, I started my support thread: http://www.buddyforum.de/showthread...AILED!-Unable-to-connect-to-the-remote-server
