It is clear that Blizzard has Honorbuddy worked out. This is my second ban this year and I missed the massive one earlier. My question is this. How can I trust HB to provide a reliable service in the future?
My opinion : its over. HB is in a lot of legal troubles with blizzard, it makes 0 sense for them to invest anything into this site. ( they will not re-write the program from scratch, they will not release x64 its gonna be same old stuff) They will milk it as long as they can but competitors already handle either rotations or grinding better. Bot is down for obscene amount of time after update and it's sold to user base as "security percussion" which is laughable. Bots that avoid detection are patched within an hour. My guess, HB has been a side project for 1-3 people for a long time now. Blizz did step up their ban game and they will hit other bot makers too at this point no one is safe.
You don't. Supposedly they fixed it last time. It seems obvious to me that Blizzard always could have detected Honorbuddy and that bossland aren't the uber l33t haxors they thought they were, Blizz just didn't think it was worth expending the resources until 6 months ago.
C'mon. Bot programmers and game developers will always be a cat and mouse chase. One will always be trying to outsmart the other. Blizzard just found a way this time, Bossland will find a way next time. It's the nature of the beast. But one thing I can guarantee you is this.... the resources at Blizzards disposal far outweighs what Bossland has. So of course, that is what Blizzard is banking on - literally.
Well cat and mouse implies equal strength but it seems Bliz is getting stronger and Boss weaker to me. What bugs me is that Bliz only have to open there eyes to see toons trying to ride thu gates etc, yet they ignore it. In BG's I put down a feast and that is a pretty accurate way of seeing how many bots are in team. So there are simple ways for them to act. Mind you I do disagree with HB having auction bots and gathering bots. Perhaps getting rid of them would create less attention. Other don't really disadvantage fellow players. Like garrissonbuddy only saves time, enyo allows players without dexterity in fingers to get into some raids but will never be as good as a top normal player. So maybe backing off would be good. Also I did warn that Buddyshop was bad for the site. Money = more developers = greater threat to blizz
How does cat and mouse imply equal strength, i've never heard of a mouse beating a cat, only getting away, sometimes the cat wins though but not always.
LOL........off topic but if it was a 20kg mouse it would maybe win. Thing is that to me Bliz have declared a jihad on Boss. Attacking their business. Boss actually create business for Blizz, which is weird (ie I wont use wow again so Bliz loses) In real life Boss would defend, and the best form of defense is attack. Shutting down WoW a few times may make them think!
Good post Frodo. There are definitely many easy ways to determine who is botting and who isn't. I have my opinion on what I consider an issue with botting and what I do not. I, for one, do not believe bots belong in a raid or bg. But then again, I do consider myself a decent enough player to be an asset without the use of a bot. Botting to beat others in challenges, etc to me not only removes the fun from the game but seems sort of pointless honestly. But then again, I'm not everyone and not everyone is me - so it's hard for me to judge the actions of others simply because they don't feel as I do. But what I don't see as a big issue nor do I give two shits if people use bots to do ... is level. However, Blizzard has voiced a very pompous stance on this. It is in their eyes they created an environment they deem necessary for you to enjoy the way they want you to. I personally don't play linear games because I hate the feeling of following a direct path ... no choice. It's the world that Blizzard created where I can log in and fish if I damn well wanted that I avidly enjoyed. The drudgery of endless questing and the pointless array of achievements that once was simply a banner of what you've accomplished - has now become a mark of necessity in some cases whereas unobtained - XXXX is unavailable to you in game (ie flying in draenor). I guess my point is simple. If they wish to ***** down on those in use in BG's and Raids because those are actually weighted events, that's fine ... I agree. however, what do they truly care if I make it to 100 in 2 days as opposed to 6 days because I used a bot?
Yea, good post. After my infinite ban I was upgrading new toons but not AFK, just using enyo. The AFK'ers are worst cos they affect the team. So my ban was on my DK.......level 71, not a great disadvantage to anyone else. So yea, levelling seems to cause no harm.
In my opinion, a bunch of Blizzard and bossland very effective from a business perspective, there are a very large part of the players who are too lazy to press the keys and make boring quests without bots, they just go out of the game, then Blizzard can not allow, on the other hand is very advantageous ban hooked on play with the bot player, because he still buy the game and the addition of a lot of money and lose the current transfer, the way a lot of moments in the game that help automate the process of doing. and this confirms my version.
the issue is, going by something like "he didnt use the feast in bg" or "he only levels, he farms tons of gold for subsciption, he farms even more gold and sells it" would cost way to much time and energy from blizzards side of things its way easier, to analyse the bot, find something they can detect, implement it into their anti*****, and ban all botters, less effort, and u wont get that many false positives at their scale, its the only possible way of doing things we simply have to step up our game and outdo them in the coding area and be undetected
What is now replaced by permanent bans semiannual, it is nothing but a deception of shareholders Blizzard, because after each wave of bans dramatically increases the number of registered accounts, which has a positive effect on inflation of the company's management accountability to shareholders.
Wow Mai ..that's actually a perspective I never thought of and one that has an extreme amount of viability. I never thought of that. Great post.
Shit I dunno what leveling profile you used but Kicks would take me about 2 weeks to get to 100 shit would get stuck every couple hours
Are you serious? They fixed it last time? If you beviele this then you are just stupid. Don't you realize that whatever Blizzard did to hit us with the May 13th banwave. They did now as well. HB devs never found out how Blizzard caught us in May. So how could they have fixed it? You are blind if you don't see that they started a banwave almost exactly 1 month after people from the May banwave got their accounts back. They will keep doing large banwaves every 6-7 months. Not because they need that time to figure out how to catch HB. Because they already know how to. HB is busted since May 2015.
Yep, this bot is detected, Blizzard has them figured out and HB days are numbered even on the legal side. If you use it now, it's a matter of when you get banned. No such thing as "safe" botting. The second you attach HB to the client, your flagged for the next ban wave. Does not matter if you only use Enyo or watch the bot, even just attaching it and never hitting start is enough for a ban. Scummy of Blizzard to do the bans just after sub time is up so they get all the renew subs.
Come on guys, be realist! If you using a BOT you know who bot and who not, I want mean, it's easy to understand this in game. When you are in a BG you see all the bot going in the same direction etcetc If 1 bot farming, is enough steal the target and he change direction and others things. So it's enough that the GM go in the places where you are botting and you are fucked. The best for the moment is that sometimes like in Xmas time, it's cheap to buy a new account so, the gold maked will be alltime more that the money used. And...if you send everytime all in another account, they NEVER ban your account, but if they are clever they can do it ....but they never did it. So make 1milion each month is enough for dont care if you have an account banned. I'm lucky because mine was not banned this round. and it was online all the time: I had delay with download the patch, i dont know why but my Warrior was online all the time.. so.. I'm not banned! After, you have to think that some Blizzard player is in this forum, they use HB for understand how work better, they read anything, they put maybe something in the shop (payed or free) and after... MASS BAN. So I think that is the not the patch the big problem but that you are sure that is that just because your knowlodges about programmation and all the rest is like "0". It's good now for WoW, you pay the game abonement with GOLD (60-62k) so nothing and cheap, you can rebuy a new account for 20 euro and have fast a lvl 90 free, so a bot free instant... After, we talk serious, bot is not you so is not legal in the base. I don't know if HB is the old GLIDDER from Vanilla/TBC or a new bot developped after... but GG for the owner. The only idea that I have is that they insert some BOT in the WOW movie too ahhaha In the end, merry Xmas and happy new year.
