That's bs.

Neither the Warcraft Client, nor the battlenet launcher scanns your RAm or CPU.

They just added the Botbehavior of every single Plugin, Botbase, etc into a filterscan of all your actions in the game. Do you really think blizzard does not buy Honorbuddy to investigate the bot behavior, etc?
As a giant company, having multiple lawyers, and after loosing against bossland in germany, do you really think they do something illegal like scanning your Pc for programms?

Nah, they don't.

Included into the behavior protocol is more than just movement. Also actions per frame, keeping rotation while moving, using chat while moving/doing combat. Etc. They even hired guys from germany and GB to code that shit.
Now annd then the behavior scan gets updated through the battlenetlauncher. So if something changes, it takes a few weeks to update the criteria. So you could have been lucky to avoid these updates if you just open wow.exe, not the launcher.
And if you use a cr.ack.ed Exe file, which set's off client status communication, to enable loading MPQ files to manipulate Models, etc, then even those updates won't help you.

My information is not 100%, but you can be sure they don't scan your Ram/CPU, etc.

Not a single forum MVP is a blizzard employee, nor do they speak for the company. They are there to provide useful information, but there is absolutely zero chance that that guy has any clue as to what he's talking about, and there's no way an actual blizzard employee would say something remotely close to that concerning their detection schemes on the public forums.

Blizz posted their official word on the bans, they gave zero information how the detection occurred. Some forum MVP was actually WAY out of line in even speculating as to how a detection may have worked.

And Apoc didn't give up the source code for HB, He gave it up for Stormbuddy. Two completely different bots. Do some reading and gain some knowledge before you make statements like that.

 

protip, blizzard forum mvp's are not actually mvps of anything. They are clueless. If you have pet-battle questions maybe they can help you there, that's about it.

its all pointless. Besides gold farmers ruining the economy what harm do bots do...Ive never seen a bot rank high enough in pvp to matter. Leveling harms who? And if u only use a CR who is that hurting you are not getting any ingame advantage other than not clicking buttons ...So bravo Blizz

 

They're related in the same way that Windows and OSX are related. They are both software programs, they both share software architectures and the similarities end just about there.

Arguing that they are similar because they share software architectures is a silly argument at best and making such an argument makes you look silly.

How about the way both bots 'attach' themselves to the battle.net gameclients?
How about they way keypresses are submitted?
How about almost everything?

A lot of other bots do do all of these things, too...Are you saying that all these other bots are similar enough that if blizz got a hold of the source code, they could know exactly how HB works, too? You sure seem to think that's the case....

Your talking about a bot for a completely different game that shares absolutely zero similarities architecture wise with wow. Wow does not, never has and probably never will, rely on the battle.net client for launching. You can run wow without having the b.net client on your pc at all.

Can you prove to me that the keypress technology that both wow and HoTS use are the same? Can you prove to me that "almost everything" is the same? I'll answer both those questions for you...No, you can't.

I do not posses the source code of either.

Though, I never said - nor claimed - that obtaining the source-code to any buddybot would appear to be pandora's box to Blizzard.

Actually, that is EXACTLY what you claimed. Go back and read your posts...You very CLEARLY stated that the architectures are similar enough that, yes, it was the pandor'a box for blizz. Don't try and twist your own words now, they're out there for everyone to see. Hell, you very, VERY clearly said that they share almost everything.

It also doesn't matter in the least bit as the MVP poster does not speak for blizz in any way. That dude has as much knowledge about the actual inner workings of blizz, as well as knowledge on their detection schemes as the lunch lady that serves in the cafeteria at blizz headquarters...Hell, he probably actually has less.
