that's not really true. your gpu actually is in use. the convertion into the vm is partly through the cpu though. still your gpu originally renders poe.

you definatelly cannot run 10+ vm instances with a 50$ gpu.

Optimal CPU with built in GPU for VMware?
GPU + CPU, APU's these days are very common within both server and consumer market. You should be able to utilize this somehow with WMware, anyone know?

Vmware, virtualizes a GPU, it does not "use" the power your GPU has, unless someone can like me something that disproves this.

It's possible with Gpu Passthrough under linux. But of course needs unique hardware.

      1. It isn't because AFIK, vmware runs on windows and virtualizes linux. It doesn't run on linux, emulating windows.

      2. Try running a linux distro with POE, Good luck.

Take note, the second link is recent, before it was a PITA. (well not really, but let's leave it at that) There were things that PoE's shitty anti***** had issues with and let's leave it at that as well.

      3. Wine runs on Linux, emulating Windows.

You AFIK cannot get an emulated linux distro to grab "gpu power" when it's emulated in Vmware.

Scroll down and read post by "wilia".

      In regards to the passthrough.

and more to read, keep in mind this is dated stuff, and I've yet to get a plausible solution working currently.
