Still I had thought using a ton of cores would lead to cheaper and more effective virtual machines. I've never tested it so I'm not really sure of anything. I think the second build I posted will be more effective than the first from a price standpoint, it's even possible to achieve up to 64 cores with those AMD processors. and remain close to the $1k budget.
I`m thinking about getting a few of these 1 for each bot - http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-IPS-wifi-...498628?hash=item43e5759ac4:g:4fAAAOSwNSxVJ2sx
They even come "preintalled" with windows 8.1 Get a few 32gb sd cards from china to so you can ensure you have enough for GGG files!
How are you guys getting your RAM usage so low in VMware? my poe client starts at ~800mb and goes up to around 1.4gb. That plus EB+the Windows 7 stuff was capping out my original 2GB max. That's with all the POE settings set to the ultra minimum guide levels and 800x600 res
pretty sure they use a ram cleaner or some sorts. Other poster said it wrecks your ram faster. Try disabling your sound card on each vm, that way the sound doesn't take up ram on your exile . exe. Also 1.5 gb is really okay, I run each guy with 2gb max, very rarely do i get the "failed to load texure" error
try this with an i5 6600k, it is pretty crazy to see the use so low. On my 4770 not k i can do 25 wow bots on the same machine with 16 gb of ram , just having my cleanmem running to scrub the ram every minute
Intel core i7-5960X (X standing for Extreme edition) is a monster CPU with 8 cores/16 threads and one of the best for workstation, but i dont think your $1,5k will be enoght to build a sistem. Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uCWTfPZlDw
