Ok Guys, Looking for some advice here, running out of idea's. Twice now I've been bombarded with trouble with this botting vigilante on my server. The first time it looks like he looked up my auction char's guild and "friended" my bots and after a couple of weeks of reporting - decided to let me know via whispers. So I disbanded the guild deleted my auction char and renamed my bots and put them together in a brand new guild. This time I cut back on the auctions I was posting and the randomised the dates and times I would bot for. some days would bot for 4 hours, some days nothing at all others 8 hours, a couple of times botted for just over an hour. I set up badboy anti-spam set up auto block trades and guild invites - Yet again he's found me with the same rhetoric, I'm currently feeding him a load of semi-believable bull - but can tell it's not washing. I'm thinking of again changing my bots names but this time crate a guild for each one of them with their own auction chars (probably on the same account as the bot) - and keep up the random botting and posting schedules. But not sure if this is gonna work. Anyone had anything similar or any other idea's what to do? If this guy is to be taken at face value I've probably been reported daily for the last month or so. .. as of right now my bots are offline while i'm coughcough "at school in exams" /coughcough any input would be much appreciated.
dont ppl in your friendlist stay as you change your name?...they just get a message that someone doesnt exists...but the new name gets into the friendlist automatically i think
will try reporting him for harrassment, my side of the chat conversations have been very mild mannered his have been a little more agressive, but nothing major so will try that. Thanks for the tip - please keep em coming!
Switch to another realm and faction, stay there a few days and come back to your realm and faction. Any information about you should be resetted.
Yeah I wouldnt report anything, I reported an incorrect item I bought with JP and they escalated it for a WEEK, Im thinking hmm this is taking forever, then bam i get the item in the mail after a week, the next day after receiving the item i've been banned during a raid saying exploitation of economy.. i denied it and got unbanned but it was all very coincidental. since then i wouldnt report shit, you dont need them looking into your logs.. i would just ignore him or move to do a diff server, if its gonna happen its gonna happen, otherwise move
Yeah, it's like the others have said; if he's found your toons and added them to his friends list, then changing their names won't do anything. It'll just say the old names don't exist and the new names will still show on his friends list. Best thing to do is skip town (change realms) for a little while. Say a week, maybe a little longer, just to let things reset and settle down and then come back. If you have the money to do it, what I suggest is to change realms, then change names, then go back after a week. He won't know who you are then because the name change was done on a different realm. Then, after all that, just try and keep your farming and AH'ing random and low-key so it doesn't happen again. All in all, good luck to you.
wel just ignore him i was once undercutting the ah a lame guy came to me stop undercutting the ah i said to him why so you can make more and bam i ignored his as and it was over he kept a few times making new chars and talking to me i ignored all his new chars to and it was fine and also report idiots like that
That's a damn good idea.... might also show blizz i'm not *currently* botting (hope they don't check histories though)
If you are placed on a ignore list it will be placed back when you change it back in any way what so ever that was a key feature of the battle.net accounts when blizzard added it It may not show in the game but the server saves those settings no matter what to be restored later if needed Also reporting him will get you investgated as well So that is not good for you Plus also do you think he is stupid or something he knows what your doing as well he must of read the tutorial that is around on how to find gathering bots It is found on blizzards forums it is pretty interesting it is messy but good
If your being followed/stalked... the one thing you don't wanna do is report him. That is.. you know you've been botting, he probably has a hunch that you've been botting and thus can give information as to why. SO if you contact a GM, the GM will contact him, he will give the GM his reasoning.. the GM will check you out.. and best case... you both get banned.. worse case you get screwd hard without any lube. SO the best way to get away from him... jump realms with that toon. Don't look back, just move it to another realm and leave it, but BEFORE you do move it.. make a toon on the new realm with your name... THEN move your toon that way you will be forced to change your toons name... and he can't simply look you up in Armory. (I mean its obvious if your a lvl 85 Tauren Paladin called HolyCowPie on Realm Acme.. and you vanish... and now there's a HolyCowPie on Realm Widget...) well you get the pic.. the gear, talents, acheivements and so on match....) If you don't want to move him.. Ya simply start a new toon, but don't put the one being stalked on mothballs... use him now and then, do a few BGs... run a few daily quests, but then just switch back to the new one and level /bot him. Its pretty simple. Also, for your AH.. MAKE a Banker Mule... A LOT of non-botters use them so its common place, don't abuse it by having it dump ALL your crap at once, but still.. that way if it gets stalked, you simply delete that lvl 1 after the AH/mail is clear and start a new one with a different name, plain and simple. Like most things, trouble is 99% avoidable if you do it right. its that 1% caused by stupidity that is the reason most get in trouble. so always look for the << LIGHT BULB >> and you'll be fine.
Please stop necroing. His issue should be resolved by now as his post is 3 months old. You just get me exited over new posts just to be disappointed upon seeing a necro
