Greetings Buddies, our decision to close down EB, and announce it in such short period, is wheiter you believe it or not, led by financical decisions. It sold much less than what we put in work and development hours in it. And it seems like this will be the matter if we continued the same way. For EB to be worth supporting, we have to be able to pay two developers full time, the actual income does not even bring enough to pay for half a developer. Exilebuddy is at this current market enviroment not worth it. However, there could be a way to make it worth supporting. If we have an income, that can cover the costs, then there is no reason to stop development. This however can not work with the actual payment model we have in place. A lifetime subscription does not help in this special case, as the manpower needed to keep up with all the changes is much much higher than with our other products. The only possible way to go, would be a monthly based subscription at a higher price that what we charge now, and with the userbase that can then bring a break even on income. The question would be, is there a userbase that is willing to pay a monthly price and how much would they be willing to pay. If it tends to be enough, we can look further. You can discuss freely here, i will answer at incomming questions.
I can't speak for the volume users as I just bot for fun, but personally I would indeed pay monthly. How much I don't know but with this quality I would certainly pay more than before.
Dear Bossland, i am ready turn my lifetime keys to 3 months and set only periot as 20$ or 15 Euro + remove lifetime.Your company made great a bot with PUSHEDX and dont let die. Thanks.
Hi, all, Bossland is trying to get a feel for the potential numbers of sessions and how much per session the Community is willing to pay each month in order to see if there are other ways to sustain the bot. To do this, he's going to need hard, realistic numbers from the Community. This is not a commitment, but is necessary to make a reasonably educated business decision. From this statement... Although the bot makes money for the Community, Bossland GmbH is losing serious money on the bot itself. (I.e., it has never actually turned a profit, and indeed has been running at a loss since it was introduced.) The business model for Bossland GmbH does not allow for running bots to make up the difference (for many (legal) reasons). The bot itself must be a profit center for Bossland GmbH. He is looking for ways to make this happen. cheers & just my $0.02, chinajade
I would have no problem relinquishing all my lifetimes subscriptions and paying them monthly. I wanna the project to continue and Im sure if you guys give it a try with this new monthly subs it will be worth it. You could set the price that is not too prohibitive to the regular user (12-15 euros monthly) and maybe a Supporters sub(15-20 monthly) no difference at all between them, just an option for the people who are willing to go the extra mile for the dev team. Im currently running 12 sessions and had a plan to expand to 20.
20 sessions - 15€ each session. Run for 3 months to see how it goes. Adjust accordingly. I mean, Drew did a crapton of work already, and hopefully that work is to make better future maintenance less troublesome. Thank you Bossland for having this discussion.
Here's the thing, Skepticism will always play a part, Only you guys know what is truly going on. Whether it is whole heartedly the truth or just an incredible business decision, i would do the same. You guys are the best in the botting business and you already know that EB is all we have, We will without a doubt pay the extra cash, the problem is being patient is a little difficult considering the emotional rollercoaster we have been on. There is only really one way to keep us believing and as patient as you guys need us. Simply be a whole lot more active with updates on wtf is going on with how much we have contributed on a daily basis, and a goal that is visible to the community, a go fund me for example on an estimate of 3-6months of Developer costs. Release it free and once that is up implement your monthly subscription plan. Im not saying that this exact plan would work but you guys are intelligent enough to make a better one, the post "Is there hope for Exilebuddy" is you guys giving us an out, a way to cover the costs for 2 devs. Prove it. Cheers, Love you guys still.
Same for me, and ill go with 30 as soon as i feel more confortable.....i'm still such in pain, you can't immagine. Tnx Bossland much for opening this windows.
I too would be okay with 10-15 Euro per Session per Month. More importantly for the future tho: Instead of dropping the bomb into the community, prepare them. This threat should really have been made before just ending the support!
If there would be 2 devs, what we can expect? Faster updates, better features or just bot update and api support like before? If first, then i can offer 10-20/m. Up to 24 keys for me. Can we also expect more public releases about global bot problems, i don't wanna hear that my bot ends tomorrow.
realistic? monthly pricing also leads to the situation that many user jump on and off the train. all the time. this makes business plan harder. no frequent updates? jump off no working plugins? jump off get married/build a house/have a baby? jump off Well... 10€ per session/per month (i ran 5 sessions) would be doable. many question marks indeed. we all have to pay vp* too... you have to ask 2 groups: the old (maybe greedy) userbase who already paid fresh meat willing to try the bot Most people posting here belong to the first group and and you have to ask everyone "willing to pay twice?" (first for a lifetime, after this monthly?) if you wanna gain money fast.
^ totally my thinking. 10-20$ each/month - 10-20-30 keys, depending on how proactive you guys communicate now seems reasonable for me. Also i know it's about money i'd still expect you to convert my and my flatmates 30+ keys into 2-3 free month with a possible change to a sub model. We sadly have lost all trust in your company and that trust needs to be rebuild. Another point is how long this would take. We're not interested at all in another monthly long waiting time for "maybe" happenings. If there is no very soon progress i'd either cancel my entire poe plans or build on enhancing the compeition bot. That would mean i dont have time and motivation for buddybot. So basicly - put a reasonable price per month - compensate lifetime keys - and most of all - be quick! Then we'd happily remain long term customers.
$10 for 1-month session / $20 for 3-month session currently have 12 lifetime sesions, can expand up to 20+
I am not sure if i will stay for a monthly payment! I have one lifetimekey (for 3 sessions) and mostly use sometimes one or two, not more. You forget the Group of poeple who not "make money" with the bot and just - bot for fun and/or - bot sometimes, not each season and/or - bot only for own/gilde equipment/trading Why should they pay for a bot monthly and dont use it. I guess, than it would be cheaper to buy ingame currency for $ and be able to trade ingame (levelservice//equipment) (e.g. Perandus HC ->$3.0 / ea Exalted Orb) I think i accept a closing of "EB 1.x". The announcement for the new gui etc sounds like "EB 2.x"...for that i can agree to pay again once (same prices) for the "new" bot.
Bot users make money, time for the bot devs to make some as well. I highly doubt that there is a majority of "i bot for fun" users out there. You bot for profit, whether it be RMT or for your own personal gains in game.
Up to 15$/month/licence. 5-10 licences. For this particular group they can make "only-active" subscription. I think that WoW in China got same model. You pay x$ for yHours of actual playing(botting in this case).
Yes and No... There is a difference if i bot for $ or bot for personal fun. -> I don't get real money from wich i am able to pay the bot! So i have to pay the bot from private money.
