Tripwire event on 8-Jun-2016 Discussion Thread

How is the Tripwire a selling point? It does not talk about it ANYWHERE on the sales page and they warn you over and over again that botting can get you banned there is no such thing as 100% account safety. Without the "tripwire" there is a greater chance that blizzard could push and update that detects HB and wipe EVERYONE out in one go. In all these banwaves not everyone gets banned. This last one I didn't and I know a bunch of others who did not. Everyone acts as if they are paying for a feature they have in-place to temporarily keep everyone safe when blizzard pushes something new into the game.

 

We already have the Tripwire trust me its badass It saved us from a banwave just yesterday, which is amazing. No other bot has the Tripwire, Honorbuddy still reigns supreme!!

 

You don't know if it saved you yet. It takes time for a mass detection to manifest into a ban wave.

 

I've never seen someone with it so far down their throat before...

 

I saw even raphus say on discord yesterday he was going to change his title to HB fanboi LoL!

 

I dont think its a coincidence that another bot had a banwave at the same time, it shows HB is the only bot that has a system to avoid new detections, that's huge! people only thinks HB is less safe because that is what bliz wants you to think, its part of their strategy against HB, shame you are not smart enough to see that!!

 

What's so great about not supporting an arguably awesome developer? A lot of people here bot to save time (Work/study), we still think the game/Blizzard make awesome things.

 

I have no intention of revealing sources but another scan-wave began today. These scan waves target small sections of the community and can go on, in multiple stages, over several weeks. Bans are not instant, they are the result of several weeks worth of evidence gathering.

Please don't flame, it doesn't help. I'd rather we solve this problem than bicker about it. I've shared the extent of my knowledge and have no influence on what happens.

but surely what sort of small sections, they targeting hb or other tools
32 bit or 64bit or mac
surely your source would of gave you more info than this.. besides that doesn't surprise me they are scanning we always know they are trying so no real news tbh.

 

That's an answer I can give. The scan isn't related to x64 or x86. It doesn't care (those were the words I was given). Rather annoyingly this makes some of my earlier thoughts rather redundant. I can't say who was targeted as the scans are non-specific. They are simply limited in number e.g. 20000 ip addresses at a time, maybe a realm or server at a time.

 

so basically if i understand correctly the scan is targeting both 32bit and 64bit anything windows related? correct
or is it focusing on mac only? and nothing related to windows 32/64bit sorry tad confused.

sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about . I'm quite sure the buddy developers know more about it than your shady unnamed sources! They said that a new detection method was sent by bliz and tripwire picked it up, we are now protected against the new method. bliz cant just magically scan people they have to update warden and the Tripwire will notice any change like that

 

Is there some kind of gold HB medal you're competing for? Or is there some kind of prize being given out for people that praise HB the most, no matter the circumstances?

OT. Think it's fairly safe to say that no matter what you do at this point, you will be caught in the next ban wave. As long as the waves are not monthly, I'm fine with it. If they were to become monthly then botting would become pointless for the majority of us. Then Blizz would miss out on so many bchests being sold every 4-6 months that I'm starting to think that they're actually fine with the way things are going right now.

 

I have 3 sessions. Both my wife and I were caught in the first banwave. I was caught a 2nd time on another account and banned again. I want HB to work, I enjoyed using the rotation bot.

My "Shady" friend doesn't play WoW anymore, hasn't done for years. He doesn't work for Blizzard either. He does however know what he's talking about. Like I said this isn't intended to cause a Flame-War, it's intended to offer (albeit vague) information from a trusted source.

Believe what you will, let's wait and see what happens but I suspect that Blizz is going to cause as much damage as possible to the botting community as it can leading up to the next expansion.

 

well we understand this, and they want to clean it up too with the movie launch and more importantly boss land winning court battles.
however now i see your source is not blizzard related true he may know what he is talking about but then again I cannot believe i am agreeing with underrated for once i am sure the hb staff would be aware too.

Also other bot makers monitor too stuff too and have information they wish they could share but cannot we got 0 idea really compared to what bot makers know.

I am sure he doesn't know any more than the combined knowledge of the buddy team If you really had useful information why not contact our devs and help them out. otherwise i think you are just trying to spread unnecessary fear!
