Who is quitting WoW for Rift?

*raises hand*

As the topic says, who will be quitting WoW for Rift?

By quitting I mean playing it actively, not just botting. I will perhaps keep a bot or two for the sake of it, but as I type I ordered my CE edition and I will be GTFO of WoW after 6+ years playing it (I started in WoW beta).

It was fun while it lasted, but I am burned out. I know Rift is like a a mix of WoW, Lotro and WAR, but the truth is I am having fun.
And while I am having fun, even if it lasts 3 months, I got my ?40 sterling back!

I've far to many times bought a game just to try it out, and within hours found out that it's definitely not for me.
I will never do that again.
So I'll be waiting for a trial, and then I'll see if it's something worth playing.

 

I played RIFT in beta 5 and this weekends beta 6 run. Its a good game, but a far cry from wow at this stage of the game.

 

This will be the big issue for most. WOW is just so big now and anything new coming out so small in comparison. I have tried a few other games since starting WOW and they have all come up short in comparison even when playing WOW without the bot. Using the bot and eliminating all the gathering crap from WOW and the constant strugle for gold to get gear, etc and I actually enjoy playing and raiding with my guild and friends. A new game would have to be esablished for a year or so at least and a good player base built up before I would consider playing it more than WOW.

both sold in ebay, back to WoW

Well, I am bored to death with WoW. I want new items, new skills and talent points, new spells, new mechanics, etc...

After knowing what Linen Cloth is, Stormwind, Barrens, Rabbits Foot grey is... I am sick of it. I cant explain, I just want something as similar as WoW as possible but with everything new.

Whenever I open my tradeskill professions and see the same items to be crafted, items I had since November 04 beta... It gets really frustrating.

Hope someone out there knows how it feels. I think Rift is a breath of fresh air to me, I dont care if it lasts a year nor I will start and MMO as an investment anymore, thinking "Oh i will only invest time if I know this will be for the long run".

Fuck the long run, I been in WoW for 6+ years and what do I have?

Wasted time and an asset that if sold goes for ?1k tops...

Nah, not anymore... I am going to take MMOs in another aproach. I log, I have fun and log out. No commitment, no guild and no annoying friends asking me to boost their 20th alt...

 

I'm getting really fed up with wow.. been paying for 3 accounts since vanilla came out.
I actually played it until a while ago. Now I only bot it, so I can spend a couple of hours per week spending gold.

Pretty sure that is the beginning of the end I'm kinda hoping GuildWars 2 will be awesome

 

The pvp in Rift seems just dull...

The only mmo that i liked was Aion, too bad there was not enough active players after a month. You miss the crowded servers on WoW

 

I will be playing both, at least until I can bot it ;p

 

Hi all i played the beta6 of rift last weekend and its very far from wow even with graphics etc etc i played it on the highst possible setting and i think the game is not worth it atm how the character run and walk etc etc its far from realistic those people dont have enough money to make a good game wow is make with millions of dollers pay by us afcourse but you can see the differents. I try lord of the rings final fantasy it are all copies of wow is my opinion.

Never heard of it till this post so I looked it up. Looks good... but.. so did Aion, and AoC.. and they ended up being a complete waste of my money.

Only thing that will peel me away from Wow right now is if someone would release a good Tank simulator

 

I feel JUST like you! Thank you for sharing! (Only that i have been playing 8 hours + each day for over a year)

 

The difference with Rift and the likes of AoC and Warhammer is that the beta had minimal bugs and the shards (servers) were so freaking nice! It is quite simply one of the games of the year and I hope it will finally put a dent into the WoW army.

 

i wil play Rift because Rift has more Potentional then wow and graphics are better to wow is going to lose quite lots of customers as i read alot Rift has even world Events and stuf like that

 

Mythic Entertainment needs to come out with DAoC 2 (Dark Ages of Camelot) - it was a pwnface game until WoW came out.

And Warhammer was ok until they sold it
