any plan for Slack/Discord alternative service support?

 

Just tried it but seems not supporting multiple HB sessions well. for example two toons signed in the same local Gmail accounts but when receive /status command from remote account only one status of toon will return.

Maybe it should work fine with different local Gmail accounts but I have many WoW account so this is not so convenience, and Google also prevent me from creating too many accounts (phone verification).

 

I'm really agree with you and Google is always shutting down service which does not profit (well). Google Reader can be a good example.

Slack is a really great alternative, it has built-in bot user support and good documentation, their service is more stable than GTalk as Slack won't shut down within years foreseeably I think.

 

A possible bug: map switching with loading screens are also marked as Disconnect messages this will spam the chat.

The strategy is to work with one remote google talk account and many local ones. Sharp Messenger is not designed to control a mass of bots but it works OK up to 10 HB instances.

XMPP is still running strong (without down times) on Google servers. There is no reason to switch from it for now.

This is not a bug in Sharp Messenger, this is something the HB API (or possible WoW API) is not allowing me to detect properly. So it's either not spamming at all or spamming too much of it, which can be turned on or off in the settings.

Thanks for replying! i'm still trying the trial version it's sooo amazing! i'll definitely buy this after the trial, however i got some suggestion that could improve the plugin:

- Disable disconnect notification by default, it's annoying (also triggered by map switching, enter bgs, etc.), atm i have to turn it off for all my accounts one by one.
- Show recap before taking screenshot, this could provide more info.
- Avoid taking screenshot in battlegrounds. i want the screenshot feature enabled by default but disabled in bgs, this could be helpful so i don't need to toggle the screenshot setting every time.

 

- Well, this is kind of personal preference, people mostly want to have it on by default. I understand that it's a pain to turn it off in the UI one by one but maybe you could edit XML configuration files directly instead of using the UI.
- What do you mean by recap?
- I'll add that as an option in the next release (turned on by default).

This is part of the screenshot the plugin takes, but no more useful information, actually i think the plugin could toggle the "Recap" button before taking screenshot.

 

OK, that's definitely something I have to look into.

 

I'm in the trial and had problems with configuring.
The plugin wants to have GoogleTalk data - but Google Talk isn't available since last year february.

Not to be giving possibly a useless reply but google is still working for me, just made to separate gmail accs for this plugin to use, approved a few things (been years now so can't totally remember what), then off it went. Only tech help I needed from Keanu was the server setting or something. Can get you that if it's what you need

 

Could you please follow the user guide? There's a step where you "revert to old chat" while you are logged in with your Google Mail account.
If you still have problems come back with a full log file attached to your post

It's just that you want the plug-in to click "recap" before taking screenshot, yes?

 

Got a issue where i don't recieve any messages on my phone, using XMPP. I can send commands tho, but i get no whispers etc. to my phone. any clues

 

- Did you follow all steps from the user guide?
- Did you disable Hangouts and enable less secure apps?
- Do you have 2 separate Google Mail accounts that are able to send each other messages (test without Sharp Messenger)?
- Did you configure Sharp Messenger correctly and set the correct e-mail addresses in the correct fields?

Please answer/try steps above and attach your full unedited log file to your reply if you still have problems.

 

Seems to be a XMPP issue. What messenger do you recommend for iOs?

 

I use the pro version of IM+.
