Well one of my accounts got caught with a 6 month banwave and DIDN'T use the bot yesterday so it suggests that they have been running a detection "window" if you like of at least the last few weeks.
LOL, Lost all my accounts. Has to of been a ban wave. all my accounts got banned and two of them I literally just started up Yesterday! so... it had to of been detected from this last update 100% =/
I am pretty sure that they have detected the last few builds as I didn't even update to this latest build.
This was my thought as well. My account that was botting up until a few weeks ago is still untouched, but the one I did use since then got nailed. It looks like the last time I botted on the banned account was the 4th, starting initially around the 20th of Oct. The very last time I botted on the account that did not get banned was the 22nd of Oct. So, literally sometime between the 23rd of Oct and the 4th of Nov was when I got hit. Patch 7.1 was the 25th so... yeah. If you have botted since Karazhan launched, you're probably screwed.
Same here I got banned 6m together with my gf and we only used actual botting to level up to 110, after that only simple CR several times that are not noticable by other players. There must have been a detection as I cannot imagine any reports on us for using routines. In fact I didn't use the bot yesterday at all so there must have been a detection window yes.
Banned 2 accounts, main and alt, the sad part was that i never used the bot on my main account and i got banned anyways...
We can all try to appeal though I don't think it's going to work if HB got really detected then it's game over and they have more than enough proof to keep you locked out... Was it permanent?
Mine was 6 months, but I've never had any other kind of offense or strike on that battle.net account, or any of the contained WoW accounts. Botting since WoWGlider launched, I'm not even mad. Have to pay the piper sometime.
I am curious though why some only got 6 months, others got 18, some got permanent. Like previously flagged accounts would get higher penalties but part of me wonders if some "detections" Blizzard might have been a little unclear on so they just gave a 6 month ban.
One of my accounts received 18 month ban but I assumed because I had another account on there previously permanently banned that it was longer intentionally for the first offense. My other accounts being 9 of them were 6 months which I intend to suicide all over again lol It says clearly in the email that appeals will not be bothered with.
if you havent had any previous actions taken on any of your accounts before you'll have a higher chance to appeal the ban and get a reduced penalty. They take account history in consideration. Worth a shot.
When you do get your account reinstated, is in intact? Meaning do you have all the same gold, honor, gear, etc.?
So what you reckon appeal with "I did it but I am sorry and never did anything like this before" as your argument?
