  • Can my 'main' (non-botted) account get banned, if I run a 'bot' account?

      From the Honorbuddy FAQ:

Yes... if the bot account gets caught, and the non-botted account has benefited in any way from the bot account (gold, items, materials, guild perks or resources, RaF-linking a botted and a non-botted account, transferring characters from a botted account to a non-botted account, etc), the non-botted account may be penalized also.
And No... generally, the non-botted account won't get banned just because there was a bot coming from the same IP. The exception is if you are running a bot farm (say 10+ bots), Bliz may have just had enough of you, and ban them all. Farmers/gold sellers easily make up the bulk of our ban reports, and this happens to them frequently. But they are 'commercial/power' botters, and not casual botters. For them, this is simply a cost of doing business.
And "no", there is no way to make your non-botted account guaranteed safe if you bot. But, if you bot smart, this should never be an issue.
Be aware that Honorbuddy is a powerful tool, and its easy to get careless with it and start adopting risky behaviors.

My question, is there really no way to be completely safe? What if you would put an item on the AH for 10k and you buy it with your other account. Using this method to transfer gold from the BOT account to your main? Or if you just put items on the AH on your BOT account for 1 copper and sell them for more on your main account? How can this be tracked?

there is no completely safe way no.

if they can connect it they ban it. wow is their game its a program making loggs of everything that happens. every comment you make every chat logg. everything gets logged. i remember a gm could tell me once a server rolled back how long time ive used to skill my skinning. they can go back and look at everything you do. and if there is a trend going on between that bot account and the main account that allways is the one selling greys at a high price or mats at a shitty price and its allways the 2 same accounts your pretty much fu#%.

they can allways find out but if your main account and the bot account is pretty much never in contact and you buy the mats of it the same way everyone else does but sometimes you sell the mats at lets say 5k / stack fjarn instead of 9k rolling on the server right now and you jump on it and buy everything out they cant say much, but you cant give it off for free. it can be a "mistake" made when posting. and it should be on different pc's and ip.

you wouldnt go a give off mats to randoms in sw or even considder selling a stack of fjarn to a random guy at 1c blizzard isnt that stupid :p

      Thanks for your reply.

Well, I have a second account but I've already used my VISA to get game time on that account so they can probably track that back to my main account or you'd think that won't be an issue if I just go with game time cards from now on?

My goal is to have a 'bank account' on my main account so I can get mats over from my BOT account to my main account for selling. That's how I've always done it but I got banned for 6 months on both accounts.
Typically, Blizzard won't say why or what but it could also have been seperate bans as I've been botting on both (farming mining/herb and fishing/rep grinding). My main mistake was that I've been botting on my main account, stupid and paid the price.

There has to be a way to benefit from a bot account through sneaky ways of getting mats over to the main account?

That's exactly what I hoped for. I've always been hit with detection bans, keeping my main account safe. But the last one wasn't, it got me banned for 6 months. On both.

I'm desperately trying to avoid getting banned on my main account again. I know it's better to not bot at all. But I need to gold income in order to complete my goal (mount collector).

If you are worried about losing ANY account, don't bot. There is always a chance and it has been known to happen.
