In the 90's I bought an premium Samsung HDD and I was happy that they offered it with lifetime warranty. After several years of happy usage, the HDD died. When I checked for its lifetime warranty, I was informed, that lifetime cycle of this product have ended few years ago and Samsung do not manufacture this HDD anymore, so my "lifetime" warranty have been already ended too. But I did not cried loudly for this, since the HDD served me well for 7-8 years of usage already.

But you are still crying for "lifetime" on product, bought from 2 to 8 years ago!

Im sure, you can still have the Honorbuddy software, you for example have bought like 3 years ago - for Mists of Pandaria expansion. But wait? What you can do with it, since its already Legion expansion on the live realms, and it will not be compatible with WoW Legion?

As Hawker already said, you can still use the Honorbuddy 2 with your lifetimes, but Honorbuddy 2 is already discontinued, and will not be updated for the new WoW patches!

A beautiful example, how disprizing and full of arrogance against long time customers you are. Still looking for cheap excuses. And for sure, no one really cares anymore as soon as you are finally swept away by Blizzard.

You mixed up some things...."lifetime" always refers to product lifetime, not my lifetime, nothing new already known. You thought you have lifetime warranty as long as you live? lol

But the lifetime of honorbuddy didn't end! There was never a flag saying "if you now buy a new licence, it is a Honorbuddy v2/v3" whatever licence...there was always only the reference "Honorbuddy".

This combined with obvious financial problems of Bossland and his statement which basically said "we need more money and need to make this change now" is, not ok and has nothing to do, with a regular ending of a lifetime.

I won't sue him, as i don't bot anymore + made way enough money with it, so i don't care. But, i can understand people that are just pissed now.

The amount of rage here, never ceases to amaze me. If its not this its bans. At the end of the day, this action took place last month, we can't change what has happened and it was NOT an easy decision to make for Bossland, but sadly few people are actually looking at why this happened from all angles. I don't see nearly as much rage to blizzard for forcing the hand in the matter, I don't see the appreciation that someone is standing up to fight for our ability to bot.

I do see understandable frustration that the lifetime subs were cut, I get that (especially as a lifetime subber myself on a different account). So I understand why you guys are upset.

Aion however brought up a good point:

"I was informed, that lifetime cycle of this product have ended few years ago and Samsung do not manufacture this HDD anymore"

The lifetime cycle of the bot did end when it changed versions/models in essence (now before all you ragaholics get out of hand hear me out). This is a technicality yes, but its the truth, so legal action will get you nowhere, despite any threats made.
The product is exactly that, the current product being supplied at that time.

However! That is not why bossland cut lifetime subs. He did so, so that instead of cutting the bot completely (due to not having the funding that Blizzard is being ridiculous about for non stop court cases) he decided to keep the bot alive and still fight for us to be able to bot.
This doesn't make it any less pleasant, but instead of just getting angry, why not actually UNDERSTAND what happened and why, instead of jumping to insults because you don't like being told "no" or don't like the response?

Again I hate that we lost lifetime subs, but at the end of the day, I put the blame on Blizzard and the courts for allowing multi hearings allowing for mega companies to bully little guys out of funding just to win...

And that is the point where it gets 100% wrong.
The blame has to be put on bossland and nobody else. HE decided to cut his entire userbase and fuck em up with this. Nobody else!

Years over years me and several other people said over and over, that the products are too cheap. Nothing was ever changed! Times, where lawsuits had already been running for quite some time...Bossland had more than enough time to do something, but, he did nothing, just nothing....for years. Is this Blizzards fault? No, it is his fault.

Price plans should have been adjusted years ago saying:

      - "lifetime will run out in x years"
      - from now on, new licences will be purchasable through monthly or yearly based payments"

and not "Your keys end tomorrow FUCK YOU". Yes i write it that way, as this is how it felt for us.

If you are a company that directly depends on customers, there is one simple thing you should never do - piss of your userbase. And that's exactly what Bossland did and now he has to accept the consequences.

So you basically saying, that we should blame Bossland for allowing customers to bot for nearly free in the last 8 years, instead of cutting them 3-4-5 years ago ....?

Did you read what i wrote? Did i say that anywhere? No!
All i said was, there could and should have been a change regarding price plans years ago. To avoid what has been done now -> cutting off the user base.

I mean, did he or anyone from staff team seriously think, that users are like "you took our licences worth $$ - $$$$ (from one day to another!!! <- that's the important thing here) but heeeeey no problem, we gonna buy everything again" seriously???
How on earth could nobody every have had the thought "mhh maybe some poeple will not like if we take their keys from one day to another?"

I know what he did for us and i always stood up for him against haters in any kind of posts/threads here, or on ownedcore, pirox, glider, OpenBot forum or whatever bot was new and tried to take away some hb users, but all of that has nothing to do with what and how it has been done now.

If you see your income decreases you have to do something instantly(!) and not wait years over years and than pull the handbrake 100%.
Hands down, if he would have simply said some years ago "due to increased development/lawsuit cost, there won't be any lifetime licences purchasable anymore after <DATE> and current existing lifetime keys will expire in <1 year> the situation would have ended way more friendly. Of course there still would have been people getting pissed and whatever....but not like now, where people simply leave the community, cause this won't generate any income at all. This was a self signed death sentence.

Seriously how long is this shit gonna replay for? Its done and in the past i think the reason why so many are hurt is because there are no other quest bot's out there hb is one of a kind and its dieing. Honestly the only thing keeping hb open is the fact that it does do the daily shit and gold farmers. But as for the daily shit why even bother when in 3 months you are going to loose your account. on a average. You might get lucky and blizz allow you to go 6 but i doubt it. Just move on instead of sitting in this forum and raging no one cares i give the bot another year at most till blizz finally milks the last bit of money out of bossland.

if you are talking to me, i wouldn't say that what i've written is raging.

Beside that, i am sitting at the office and like browsing forums, reading news and getting involved in discussions from time to time.

This might sound stupid for someone, but i spent a pretty big lifespan with those guys here and it kindy hurts to see the community dying, due to bad decisions.

The security of the program needs work but devs do not know how to fix it to the way it used to work detecting the cat

This is not static fix&forget, pal!

Blizzard are working non-stop vs 3rd party software nowadays, beside the Warden module, which was basically not being effective since year or so, they set one or multiple detection traps vs bots in each WoW patch/minipatch nowadays. So its not only about knowing how to fix this or that detection, but the time, involved in keeping the bot safe from detection is huge, considering how fast WoW are deploying mini-patches sometimes.

In such periods of working overtime on HB core team its possible for some trap to slip thru their eyes, and the detection is real then! Just like it happened the last few times.
