i guess pvp botting can be relatively easy to spot if you are using the same profiles as everyone else, but for archaology im not so sure..

if you dont get stuck you almost 100% look like a normal player to me, i never afk bot on my main, and have sound on should i get any whispers im ready to reply in 10 seconds .

      Any thoughts ? Scare tactic?

This is extremly intresting. Its curious thought are they looking for those idiots who join and never do anything. Or a tru bot who can heal/fight and sometimes fairly well.

Mmo Champion is one of the most famous WoW Fan-based forums out there. The trackertool they have on their website scans the official blue posts on the official WoW forums. (both EU and US).

So the blue post in the link is a employee of Blizzard :)

Just saying... Blizzard employees wouldn't warn you, they WANT you to get banned.

The post is legitimate and from a Blizzard employee. End of discussion.

Also - you're wrong. Last banwave emails were sent 3 days later with details for players with "closed" accounts on how to get their accounts back. They need to have the appearance of policing unfavored activity of the community, of course, but they are a business, and they want your money.

No they don?t, they really want you to stop boting and play like everyone else and keep sending them money.

Source on this? I find that highly unlikely, however, not impossible i suppose.

No other source other than personal experience. Granted I was only AFK botting - unsure if they have some punishment based on severity system in place.

Think about it, When we bot, we spoil the game for everyone else economy wise - Prices drop dramatically. Keep thousands of customers satisfied paying for subscription or a small minority who bot paying for subscription banned? what do you think they'd choose?

F#&K it, I didn't wanna live forever anyways! BONZIEEEE!!!!

Its kinda hard to ban people who bot 8 hours a day running mixed mode. I mean you pvp / arch or arch / IB or GB2 / IB or whatever.

I guess when their /fail warden doesnt work without breaking the law they have to start using statistics.

Oh well, see u on the other side gentlemen!

Blizzard doesn't lose money by banning botters, they probably make money by banning botters. What do most of us do when we get an account banned? We get another account and start leveling again.

Let's look at some math here:

      US prices:

Vanilla + BC Battlechest CD key w/30 days free: 38.99
      Lich King CD Key: 38.99
      Cata CD Key: 38.99

So that's 116.97 to get a fully upgraded account which we are *still* going to have to pay subscription fees on. So, for every botter account that gets banned that ends up getting replaced with a new account, Blizzard is making another 120 bucks for each ban-barring those that quit the game (and I believe very few botters actually quit).

      Just my 2 cp.

Yah, I think most people who get banned just buy a new set. So the money losses aren't really there.

In any event, is it news that Blizzard takes steps to ban bots? What's new?
