I'm in the process of finishing my own edition of questing routes stepping from 1-60 fully AFKable.
The profile will not include fancy CB's that usually get broken with new releases.

Tested it on about 3 chars and got to level 60 with 2.5 days /playtime, with no interaction (just to buy mount)

      The progess actually is:

      Undead 1-60 Full
      Orc 1-60 Full
      Troll 1-60 Full
      BloodElf 1-60 almost Full
      Tauren 1-60 almost Full
Goblin 1-10 in progress 10-60 Done

The profile is a mix of all questing profiles included on the forum, i took the best part of all and mixed in a new one profile, but i need testers to fix 1-10 zones related to transports.
So, Is it allowed to edit and release it? Ofc will give feedback to original writers.

This is clearly a ripoff of my 10-60 profile with your 1-10 sections thrown in. I suggest you consult a forum moderator before blatantly plagiarizing, or simply write your own profile.

I don't see why profile writers can't collaborate and improve their profiles together.

Personally, I am sad that Tubajedimr is going to be leaving us for real life obligations, and won't be able to continue his 1-68 profile.

Eddie4 has a very nice Outlands questing profile, and there is another user trying to slowly update the Alan WotLK profile.

I would love to see several people band together and perhaps work on these, creating as close to a 1-85 questing profile as we can get. I'd also love to see more quests that HonorBuddy can complete added, not just the ones for the sake of fast leveling, but for grinding out Guild Reputation.

      I <3 dreaming.

Chaining together profiles is far different than plagiarism. There was no prior discussion, collaboration, nor credit given. Only plagiarism. Tuba used a huge chunk of my profile to enhance his with my permission. That is not the case here. People work very hard two make working profiles, just ask Kickazz006. Taking my profile, adding in a simple 1-10 portion, and slapping his name on as the author is in bad etiquette at the very least.

      I agree with you completely.

My post was just some rambling of thoughts that I had in my head; I just want to see more collaboration instead of differentiating.

Basically, I hope I can contribute some ideas that some other people may latch onto and work with. Unfortunately, I am aware that will most likely never happen, and I may be forced to start actually doing profile work on my own, like I did in Glider. I am trying to avoid that happening, with work, etc. I don't want to just undertake some project and end up abandoning it midway through because of burnout, etc.

Anyway, stealing your work isn't cool. Getting your permission to improve upon it would be the thing to do.

If a profile is out of date (i'd say more than 2 months). then by all means, go for it. But atm raphus is taking over Tuba's profile. So, if he's worth his salt it should be pretty awesome in the next month to come. Tuba doesn't make the profile anymore, so go for it to explore your profile making abilities. But do keep in mind that Raphus will be making the profile more awesomer.

Just make sure rule #1 is obeyed:

      Credits.

it's an unspoken rule, but rule #2: ask for permission to use said profile(s) from authors. Max time ... 1-2 weeks.

Now if it's my profile, i don't mind people editing code or using it to get their skills up... but editing 2-3 lines and slapping "bobby joe hilltop" on it = bad juju :)

I don't mind accepting code from other people to make my profiles better, but we all know mine are pretty nice - and they get nicer everytime that someone gives me a bug report :) (or i find a bug)

He plainly stated in his first post that it was a combo of profiles from the forums, He also said he would give feedback to the original authors, which im pretty sure he meant credit. I agree with ExT why dont all you skilled profile writers work together to make a solid 1-85. If i had a clue what the heck to do Id jump right in with ya.

It's not that, each profile writer is different, just like each coder. Even the best codes like Nesox and Raphus code differently. There are a few things that work a few ways. Look at my 1-58 vs natfoth's 1-58. You'll see a very large difference in how we code. And look Mordd's DK profile that was edited by Nesox.

And of course look at Tuba vs Me as well :)

I am not on the goal to gain "rep" and become a "badass guy" on the forum, that's not my goal.
Anyway as far as profiles are "shared" and "free" i thought it was a good idea to share profiles tested on about 4 toons with 0 problems, hit start and you got 60, just for community benefit, nothing else.
After some comments i regret my "good intentions" and will keep that profile "for my private use only", cause even after testing for a lot of days, editing, adding chains, merging and testing on new toons i dont want to steal glory to someone, and it's pretty sad to read a sort of elitistic comments about sharing "edited profiles" (not done completely on my own of course), sharing is caring but this time it doesnt seems the case.
Sir Kick you can archive this thread.

      Thanks

lame, I was looking forward to this. I can understand the coding differences but that does not mean that they couldn't read a common ground. Also I don't see why they would care if you release as long as you don't try to claim it as your own. I understand it takes alot of work to make a good profile and alot of time tho. I respect them for that but to have fully working stuff is a dream come true.

They will never be a solid 1 click and your level 85 profile untill the bot is stabilised, but everytime HB even get's close to becomming AFK'able blizz release a new patch which make's HB virtually a beta test program again for month's on end, everyone might aswell get the best from HB now since 4.1 is around the corner.

When i took over the WotLK and Outland profile the guy that posted it haddend been on for like 4 months. Same goes for the Edit I made of WotLK profile I even had my edit in the original topic for a month then 2 days ago I decided to make my own topic. You returned 1 day later and I offered to remove it.

About using other peoples profile. First I stole from Kickazz an ally so who cares. Secondly I asked Kick's permission via PM before posting it. Thirdly I gave credit to all the people who worked on it.

When taking over profiles be very careful and respectful to the original makes and always always give credit.

If you want to make an 1-85 profile use linked profiles. Make one profile that links to all the others and don't package it sent them to download the parts from original creators. something like ralphus has done whit the 1 tot 68 profile
