I think blizzard thinks of botters like governments think of wild animal populations. If they get rid of all the wild predators, their natural prey will get overpopulated, so even though the occasional fox kills the occasional sheep, the balance is there. They obviously can't fully allow it publicly, but if they came up with some new sort of auto ban system that detected any type of bot no matter how sophisticated, the balance of gold will not be maintained. I think blizzard's true goal, is to ban the obvious ones, for obvious reasons (appeasing the self righteous 'bot police' and overall publicity, and keep the bot population below a certain threshold, where they don't have to spend too many resources tracking.

I like the idea of this, I am going to steal the essence of this... I am an animal roaming the cyber world wanting to kill .... I am a wild puma of lust.
