I was wondering what the plans are for flying support while questing?

What I understood is that the current FlyTo method was a temporary one till flying support trough normal route calculation could be perfected is this the case?

Basicly what am asking is should I start spending time to put my profile full whit FlyTo custom behaviours or will HB get smart fly support somewhere in the near future?

It is supported if the quest profile supports it, Kicks Cata profiles support flying between certain hotspots which speeds up 80-85 immensly.

I understand that currently there is no other way but am asking in the future. Because am considering of adding it into my Horde outland profile.

So there are no plans of expanding flight support for HB? Am asking as a profile maker.

I will agree that the actual flying is done well. Kick's profiles in particular along with the FlyTo behavior are to be commended. Also, the Archeology and Fishing bots are much appreciated.

However, I believe that lack of built-in flying is horrible for a number of reasons:

      1) It adds an unnecessary burden of debugging, testing, and maintenance to profile writing.
Honorbuddy is an amazing bot, but at this point in time the value of Honorbuddy product lies in its profiles--not in the bot machinery.

      2) No built-in flying means no AFK-ability.
Profile Writers cannot adequately compensate for when a bot needs to go repair or sell. I can't tell you the number of times my toon has gotten stuck at the top of Stormspire or in a Stormpeaks transition because of this.

      3) A lot of 'stuck' issues could be fixed by simply flying out.
Especially when the problem was caused by falling, and you didn't fall all the way down to a 'navigable area'. Many times the bot is smart enough to fly back and get the corpse, but after that, it has no where to go because it can't fly (or jump down) to a navigable area.

      4) Lack of built-in flying is simply an embarrassment.
For a bot as advanced as Honorbuddy to not have flying built-in (especially 5 months after the Cataclysm drop, but needed long before then), is simply product management shouting "we don't care". It does horribly look like a bot to be using a ground mount in Outland and Northrend.

IMHO, to not have built-in flying at this point in time is simply unexcusable. Don't get me wrong, I *love* Honorbuddy, but think this problem has gotten way out of hand. It should have been (natively) flying for over a year now .

      cheers,

from some of the stuff i've seen with experiments ... hb flying has a lot of issues.

I'm not talking about FlyTo. I've used a different behavior from exemplar that enables flying and ignores navmesh, but if it reaches inside a building, it either bugs out, or kills HB.

Enabling flightor in a plugin also has a lot of issues.

Currently the bot (bot base mainly) is just not smart enough to handle multiple outside and inside scenarios

      This ^^

I Thought that behind the scenes it was being worked on but seeing the reply from Tony I guess they are not? But if this is it, I will gladly add flying support this way to my outland profile I was just hoping to let HB do all the navigation and just tell it where to go.

From what i've seen, it's not on the list. It's just a few things that i've tested that people have asked me to test. And it's exactly what I expected ... it's not going to happen any time soon. Maybe if/when HB goes to .net 4.0 they'll overhaul it and add experimental flying or something

      Totally agree with this ^^

Like eddie4 mentioned above, I also thought that native "built-in" flying was being worked on and it should be close to being released soon. I am somewhat disappointed to read that nobody has been working on it yet. It looks really bad letting a bot run around in their ground mount for prolonged amounts of time.

I wonder who calls the shots on what major feature gets worked on at any point in time. Is it Bossland? Apoc? Hawker? Nesox? Someone else?
