Hey guys, I wrote this CC for my own personal use, but so far it's working rather well, so I figured I would release it to the public! This CC is for Prot Paladin specced Paladins only, and it's core purpose is PvE solo grinding (mostly leveling). It has had some minimal testing in PvP and it works reasonably well, but I can only guarantee the PvE aspect of it. This has NOT been tested in instances and is NOT designed for tanking. It has also only been tested from level 1-45, however, testing is currently in progress and abilities up until 85 are included in the combat sequence. Features: No setup required, works out of the box True AoE grinding -Once the bot has Avenger's Shield and/or Hammer of the Righteous, it will begin including an intelligent search for nearby potential adds in it's combat routine. If the fight is going well and it finds a nearby target that it feels will not overburden it, it will go and pull it to get the most out of it's AoE abilities. -When in a fight with multiple adds, it will intelligently reposition itself in order to ensure all melee adds are in front of it, allowing Avenger's Shield to hit as many targets as possible. Handles all (known) bad situations gracefully -Such as evading mobs, unpathable targets, Spirit of Redemption, etc. Recommended Talent Build: WoW Talent Calculator - Sigrie. Todo: -Detect Wrath of the Lightbringer talent properly -Add in food and water support -Finish testing to 85 Changelog: Version 1.0.2 -Fixed issue with Crusader Aura -Will no longer attempt to reposition or move while rooted and will instead face the target Version 1.0.1 -Fixed an issue with mobs listed in a profile's AvoidMobs list not being counted towards adds currently in combat -Tweaked how the CC handles NPCs in combat with other NPCs a bit Version 1.0.0 -First release Let me know how you guys find it! Feel free to request additions and report bugs. Please do not post code fixes or reuse my code without my permission. Thank you! If you like the CC, feel free to hit the little star in the bottom left corner of this post and let me know!
Posted a minor update, fixed some issues with mobs listed in a profile's AvoidMob list and changed how the CC interacts with NPCs fighting other NPCs.
Thank you for releasing this, it's earning more exp/h than the ret cc I used before. Been Using this from 32-35 now, and it's looking quite good so far. Esp. I like the repositioning mechanism, even though it sometimes looks a little awkward, but it's working ^^ What I'd like to see, is it using Crusader Strike if there are no adds (it just does more single target damage than hammer, esp. with Wrath of the Lightbringer ). Also on minor add counts (<=3), it might be more effective to use Retribution Aura than Devotion Aura. A minor bug I found while questing in Dustwallow Marsh, is that it tries to reposition itself when it's rooted, in this case trying to move for ~15sec. It might be better to just face a target in melee range than to try to relocate in this specific situation. Otherwise going strong, will try this for leveling to 85
I found a bug: when mounted he just constantly switches between Crusader Aura and Devotion Aura. It doesnt move at all.
Updated! Fixed the issue with Crusader Aura, thanks Killaaa38, +rep. samrick: Should no longer move around while rooted, I tested it quickly in a duel, but haven't tested it in the specific situation you mentioned (in Dustwallow Marsh). If you could test it out and let me know how it's looking, that'd be great. +rep! In reference to Hammer of the Righteous vs. Crusader Strike, without any points in Wrath of the Lightbringer, HotR was actually better single-target damage from what I was experiencing. That may change if you have really good gear, however. I definitely do have plans to include Crusader Strike if you have Wrath of the Lightbringer and I'll be releasing an update shortly that includes those changes. In regards to Retribution Aura, I was actually considering that, so I'll do some messing around and see if I can find a good way to decide on when it should switch to Ret Aura. You mentioned that it looks a little clunky sometimes when it's repositioning - Did you notice anything in particular that looked odd? I have some changes in the works to improve this CC's viability in PvP greatly, it actually works quite well. Been developing an enhancement shaman using the same CC base and it's given me several things to add on to this one, so expect some extra functionality again soon.
Thank's for making a great profile. I've been using it on my pally from level 50-64 and it works awesome for grind/pvp mixed profile. I just wanted him 2v1 a prot pally and dk
Other Paladin Custom Class developers please excuse me but this is the best Paladin CC atm. Great Job Beawulfe!
Whats the best profile for a 49 Pala? It?s very hard to grind with this cc if there were ranged mobs, which are actually in this level range in two of the best grinding profiles here.
I can look through a few profiles, but if you have any suggestions for better ways to handle ranged mobs with this CC, I'm all ears. Few options in my mind, but feel free to suggest more: 1) If you're dealing with a mostly-melee group with one or two ranged, get into melee range on the ranged targets rather than focusing on the melee adds, ensuring AoE hits them as well 2) Don't pull additional adds into the fight if ranged targets are attacking you (meaning that it'll finish off all of the ranged attackers before grabbing the next group) 3) Some ranged mobs will start following you and melee attacking if you're less than 5 yards, which means with some careful repositioning the CC could attempt to force ranged adds to melee instead (and if it keeps them closer than 8 yards, they won't revert to ranged attacks, they'll just follow you like any other melee-based mob).
I'm debating starting a new account to try this out. It sounds fantastic. It works well from level 1?
Testing this now, starting with a fresh level 1. Let's see how it goes! Level 29 - So far, this is working really well! The only problem I've had was Auto Equip trying to equip 2H Weapons, removing access to Avenger's Shield. Thats not the CC's fault tho.
Small snag. I had to disable this CC while questing in EPL, while Tarenar Sunstrike and Gidwin Goldbraids (Quest NPCs) were assisting me, because they kept casting buffs on me, which this CC was trying to override, and they went back and forth until OOM and repeated indefinitely.
Do you know the name of the buff? I'll look up the quest and see if I can track it down if not. In regards to Consecration, it is actually in the rotation, but only if you have 2/2 points in Hallowed Ground. It is also very close to the lowest priority spell, so you may not see it very often, but I can increase the priority, from my tests it was pretty low on damage unless there's a lot of targets nearby.
They were actually casting Kings and Might, which is probably where the issue lies.. Maybe only have it check whether you need Kings or Might every 5 minutes or so rather than constantly? (Or maybe theres a better solution. Who am I to say. Haha) And yeah.. I wouldn't do Consecration until there are at least 3-4+ adds
Another issue related to the buffs.. When using a profile that uses a flying mount, when it needs to buff, it tries to spam the buff, but continually gives the error that you're on a mount.
I don't know if I may be doing something wrong, but I am using it Grind/PVP mixed mode in HB with this CC and I have to move it around to get to the mobs, otherwise it just sits there waiting for something to come by and hit it. Is this the way its suppose to work or am I doing something wrong?
