Anyone else get this? Hi, First, I would like to sincerely apologize on behalf of AIO Bot and the entire staff here for anyone whose accounts have gotten banned during this unfortunate time. As we are all aware, botting is a highly risky activity and is to be done with caution (little disclaimer). Having said that, I really do personally feel bad for anyone whose account got caught up in this recent mess. The reports are pouring in to ALL of the top-tier bots, not just ours, and if you are so inclined you may find that in some cases they were hit much harder than us. Now that things have settled a bit and we're looking at the damage, Yes, I agree with others that this is not a banwave in the Warden-detection usage of the word. I have spoken with the staff, and we believe what happened is that Blizzard got a list of reported people, and decided to do something about it, and banned them all at once. If the above were not the case, and it was an issue with the AIO Bot software itself, then everyone, and I mean everyone who has been using AIO Bot for the last 2-3 weeks would be permanently banned. As some of you have astutely noted, this is clearly not the case. We have a large and ever-growing user base, and you would see the forums swamped. While some of our users did unfortunately get hit, it remains a small fraction of our overall user base. (Again, I am very sorry if you were in that fraction). When these reports started pouring in we were quite alarmed and did everything we could to get the authentication servers down immediately, but now that things have cooled down it seems that it is highly unlikely that anyone was banned because of a Warden scan of AIO Bot. It seems these player reports are coming in more and more lately as WOW enters a more mature era in its development, so please be careful. One of the important new features we're pushing for in an upcoming update is a feature that will let you chat in-game, thus greatly reducing the chances of anyone suspecting and subsequently reporting you. AIO Bot authentication servers are down for now, just in case. If nothing changes within the next 12-24 hours, we will get them back up and running. Your bot time will not count down. So please be patient, as your account's safety is our #1 priority right now. When the servers do go up again, please bot at your own risk, be safe, and remember to exercise caution by setting up your alarms, etc. If there is anything else, questions or concerns, please post it in the thread linked below, and as always we will address it as best and as quickly as we can given the current information we have. And nothing. Wasn't saying anything negative. Just thought I'd share it, gees. Actually quite impressed they emailed their customers to explain what's going on
Well that's interesting coming from a quest bot. I've noticed an almost eerie lack of gathering bots, esp in Uldum, on my server this last week or so. Makes me wonder where everyone went :S
the server side statistics is bringing everyone down. with even 10 people running a profile in 1 area, it would be easy to see after monitoring the toon for a while what the flightpath is. and automatically ban people flying it perfectly. it all comes down to statistics and unfortunately *****ing sticks out when your looking at the numbers.
Is the AIO bot crap or something? how does it compare to HB? I thought a player report would usually only get u a 72 hour if its a first offense. I also think that their banning is more than a player report.
1. It's not great but not as bad as some people make out. 2. The first offence rules is irrelevant if they can prove, by their standards, that you are a bot. 3. Player reports build up, they are then investigated. If it is believed the user is botting and/or *****ing they will end up queued for the next bulk ban.
I guess that's why u can't bot for long so if they investiage you they can't catch you cuz u might be playing or offline when they do. So somebody tell me is honorbuddy way better than this? also any idea how long they wait to ban you for ?
I use both AIO and HB, I like them both. AIO bot is only really good for leveling questing still. It has a decent set it and forget it style to it. I like it, Ill use it to quest level where HB does not have questing profiles.
it's because it's a fail macro bot. macro's = bad, especially 10,000 doing the same quests with click accept button
I don't know where he's been hiding, but my 1-58 auto loads bc, and bc auto loads LK. /played is about 2-3 days per profile or less depending. it also trains flying, and flies, assuming you have the money
What about swamping blizz with fake player reports? I don't know.... could work or at least make their bot-department a bit more expensive, huh? maybe not swamp them, but just up the amount a bit. every fake report costs them. could perhaps be implemented.
Most of us, if not all of us want other botters to get banned. The more botters, the less profitable it is for us (whether for money or gold). Most of us would not directly report others, but if someone bots for 24 hours a day, a ban is a good thing. To me a bot that cannot properly function in game deserves to be ban. The purpose and the drive of botting should be, to make it seem like humans are the ones playing.
Don't be so naive. Their player report system have a built-in anti-spam and anti-defamation function: When you fill in your report form, they'll ask you your account name and character. With a quick check, they can see if you are serious about your report or not: if your accounts is inactive, or banned, you are trying to spam; if your char is not high level, you are trying to talk bad about others; if you put your real identity in, you may risk your account safety first before they ban your target. If every botter report other fellow botters, everybody get banned and the only one that is winning is Blizzard. That's why the community usually despise that kind of action. However, in every community there will be some a$$holes that like to back-stab others for their own sake, that's why I never leave my bot alone. The good side is, I saw a lot of funny thing Blizzard did on botting accounts .
