I have heard tell, of people selling wow accounts (havingone toon on it usually level 85). So how do they do it? I mean I've been tosome of those online places that buy and sell accounts and most of them don't'offer more than $90.00 to $120.00 USD for it... some even less.

To even make an 85, as far as I know, you have to have allthe expansions for that account which atm, runs about $119.00 USD (or approx. 82.37 Euro). Then you have to buya Time card too. The prices below are from the us.blizzard.com/store/ anddoesn't include the $25.00 transfer fee charged if you make an account andtransfer the toon you want to sell to it. Once that is done, It'll take the avg, person at least a month to raise the toon, do all the raids they can, levelprimary and secondary Professions and maybe even have an epic mount or two andsome vanity pets (something that brings the highest price).

      World of Warcraft? BattleChest?

      $39.99

World of Warcraft?: Wrathof the Lich King?

      $39.99

      World of Warcraft?:Cataclysm?

      $39.99

What most places offer, simply put,is laughable, considering they aren't even offering the seller as much as theaccount alone cost, much less the toon.

So how does one go about makingprofit? I mean I have 13 level 85s atm (in varying levels of gear). How can Isell any one of them and make a profit?

To some of you this is a noobquestion. but it is a legit one. I have too many 85s.

Some people got vanilla at christmas for free or $5 depending where you got it. I have a second acct with 2 85s. If I were to transfer both of those it would cost $50. If I sold them for $80 each I would profit $110 which would be almost the cost to start the acct. Every toon I lvld and sold after that would be profit. You can make a 85 in a week if you really want to.

If you start using the internet for better shopping deals you can almost always find all of the wows for 10%+ off.
Newegg.com - World of Warcraft: Battle Chest PC Game BLIZZARD

Just one example but as you can see this is just one of many deals you can find. I have been able to find all of the xpacs for $69 together so just keep a lookout

Umm. I dont' want to sound argumenitive. But While some may have gotten wow for 5 dollars at christmas, this isn't what I'm talking about.

You can get a free 30 day account sure. But to get to an 85 you have to have everything. Now I've done some searching (not a lot of time really). And basically, the prices for the xpacs are pretty much as I've listed them. 10% off 39 bucks is only $3.90 And yes, I too can make a level 85 toon in a week. But I cannot do it in a week with all professions, primary and secondary to level 525, complete with a full set of raid gear (which as I said: brings the bigger money).

Sure I agree, if you can get an account for 5 bucks! Great! But that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking and saying that most of the sites I've looked at so far, arn't offering near enough. I mean man, you have an account, that in and of itself cost what they offer basically + or - 10 or 20 bucks. The toons I have for sell have great gear on them and everything to 525 plus epic mounts. I'm not about to let one of them go for the mere price of a wow account. So I guess the real question is. Anyone know of a site were they are resonable?

Simple answer is that there is no (or very VERY little) money to be made in producing accounts to sell.

Either seller gold or get a job :p

Well ty for that inspiring and so insightful education.

Have a great job, make great money. Had just hoped that there was a way to make money selling something like toons and other than selling gold, since Wow is over run by gold sellers already. LOL 15 bucks can get ya more gold than ya really need.

Your "done searching" and the prices are as you listed? You do know that WoWEU (not US) just sold Vanilla and TBC for 5 euro each, not sure if this is still going on.

All throughout the year they come up with low prices randomly for the xpacs. I bought 20 of vanilla and 20 TBC at $5 for US servers about 7 months ago or so, for when I get banned or want to sell a toon off. So your logic of that price is final and set in stone is completely wrong. I payed $10 for the first 2 xpac, baying retail for the last two would put me at like $90, so that's $30 below what you think the all go for. That doesn't include the $20 WOTLK keys I bought about 2 months ago for wow us at $12.95 each.

Because you think the prices are set in stone, you should really just stop trying to sell accounts or even start the process.

If you are selling WOW accounts on which there are multiple level 85 toons, you can get more money for them and they cost less in terms of xpacs. Th more toons the more money depending on their classes and gear. Of course, you take the chance of having an account with several 85s getting banned before you sell it which costs you time and money.

Normally, I wouldn't reply to someone like you. But a recap. The prices I quoted came directly off the wow site and so they are set in stone or were when I typed this.

The fact that you say that somehow you miraculously found those prices, is not a norm.

I've searched the web now for weeks and have NEVER come across those prices you say you got. So if indeed you did get 20 of vanilla and 20 TBC at $5.00 ea. U.S. and for U.S. Servers, then share such a place instead of coming in here as if you're some sort of diety and somehow have a right to speak to others in the manner of which you did. But I doubt it seriously that you did, since I do a search of places at least once a day and have yet seen anything like what you claim.

They were 5 bucks during December... I have several myself.

There is really no need to get so defensive, he is right.

Battlechest on Amazon.com is only $19.99 as is Cata, you didn't look that hard. $75 for all (Battlechest, WoTLK and Cata) at the moment.

Blizz has always charged more for purchases via their website.
