Shamans Location: Arena

What should have happened (be specific): Water Shield myself, Earth Shield the other player that I set as Tank in LazyRaider.

What did happen (be specific): Earth Shields myself. I set Tank to other player, nothing happens. I manually Earth Shield other player and it spams Earth Shield over and over until I start stop the bot several times mid-arena and start manually casting heals, then CC takes over correctly.

System time of issue (log time stamp): Starts at beginning of log at [11:07:05 AM:079]

 

No ETA at the moment.

By design it applies Earth Shield to self in PVP currently. Other designs for dynamic selection in PVP are planned, but no ETA.

 

It happened after I set the other player (a warrior in this case) as the Tank in LazyRaider. So there is no support at all for arena you mean?

 

Since you were able to start up and use ShamWOW in Arena, I'm assuming you've already answered the question on whether its supported.

LazyRaider allows you to designate a Tank. It's responsibilities end at that point and how the "Tank" character is utilized is up to the CC.

In PVE, ShamWOW supports the concept of a Tank which is a PVE Role. There is no tank in PVP unless you include Battlegrounds like AV where they do actively tank NPCs at different points. Those are outliers however and represent an extremely small percentage of PVP activity.

In PVP, ShamWOW will cast Earth Shield on itself to protect the Shaman from being focused fired and burnt down quickly. Because PVP (and especially Arena) is primarily about burst, Earth Shield is used to improve the Shamans survivability.

There are an infinite number of other possibilities for Earth Shield in PVP, but it us unlikely ShamWOW will be modified to open this up as its not in line with the design objective. There is a model for enhanced automatic selection of a Earth Shield target in PVP I had begun work on based upon who was receiving the most incoming damage, but I haven't been satisfied with it as it is so easily disrupted by a stuns and silences. So for now, the current behavior is the preferred one for general purpose PVP.

Hi Bobby, I noticed that you put in crowd control features. I was wondering when you were going to actually enable them?

 

Hey guys I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced any problems while on the boat at deepholm. It just sits there and doesnt do anything. It also doesnt work with singular either.

 

The deepholm boat hasnt been meshed, any quests on it regardless of class or profile have to be done manually.

 

Im sorry I should of told you that I was trying to use lazy raider or the combat/heal bot and move him manually and he would not do anything when i would attack somethimg.

 

Next release I most likely. Depends on how testing goes.

 

Densdale, The answer Mizzy (+rep) gave is correct. The mesh is used for calculating distances to objects so no mesh = bogus distances. The result is unexpected Bot behavior, most typically in the form of standing still doing nothing. LazyRaider disables movement but it doesn't eliminate the need to calculate distances to objects/npcs/etc. If you have any other issues, be sure to provide the info specific in the FAQ for reporting any observed behavior. Thanks guys for the response. I guess I thought it could be something you could do because I thought fpsware and singular paladin worked ok with lazy raider on the boat. Thanks for great work.

 

searing totems

Hi and thank you for a great CC. The bot is dropping 5-10 searing totems each fight.
I am currently running the latest build. Also note shamwow is the only custom class.

Thanks for the post, but I can't do anything with when the only information provided is "I get the same issue." Even though you get similar behavior, it may be for a different reasons and by not posting the detail needed, an opportunity to fix it at the same time as another issue is missed.

thanman, Thanks very much for the post containing the debug log! Config\ShamWOW.config was missing from the .ZIP and its absence caused some initialization steps to be missed. The result was an unexpected set of values which created the unexpected behavior you saw. I have added the necessary folder and file to the .zip. Please redownload and install per the INSTALL.TXT and it should work as expected. If you still have issues please post again using the template from the FAQ.
