We can only guess until we can read the actual case they filed. I had a very quick look on our german law, and all i found doesn't fit: - You are not allowed to circumvent copyprotection measures. We don't copy wow, and i doubt they even try to prevent copies. - You are not allowed to sell tools that can be used to circumvent copyprotection and break into other peoples systems. Thats an issue for all people that want to do a penetration test of their own , to prevent intruders from breaking into their network. Also doesn't fit. - We also don't steal blizzards ideas and sell them on our own or even give them away for free, we don't make World of Warcraft available on rapidshare or bittorrent. So i'm really curious which angle they took at suing our beloved buddyteam.
Maybe you or someone else can refresh my memory. Was it the guy behind mimic who everyone thought was doing the ddos attacks on all these bot and hack websites a while back?
Bossland/Hawker if you guys need funding you should open a section called "donations for court" or something. We the community are prepared to help you guys out!
They will go with the copyright approach, most likely with they will use identical arguments as they used with glider.
Yea but we dont have a fucking Digital Millennium Copyright Act thank God for that. The only Problem is the Cort in Hamburg because its very friendly with big Companys

There is no bot on the market as complex as HB. There's no other bot who can quest to my understanding.
I may be late, but the person behind the biggest reseller for mimic on mmomimic was behind many many ddos attacks on other resellers and such.
Wonder how this will turn out. I hope HB wins and I don't just say that because I have lifetime subscription (this isn't about money), but because HB provides me with a way to get around some of the horribly boring grinding stuff blizzard tries to force me to do. I was already doing everything I am doing now before I got HB, HB just lets me live more and still get where I want. I suspect that blizzard knows this can take a long time regardless of outcome, they might try to bankrupt bossland through legal costs (lawyers etc) while being able to point to the lawsuit and shout "look, we are doing something, we are!", even if it takes years. And for all that say "look at glider", I must agree with those who have pointed out that this lawsuit is taking place outside US jurisdiction, and is under the German and perhaps ultimately EU law. None of us can know how it will play out without seeing the papers they've filed, but at least we can rest assured that it's a different ballgame from a US court. Again, best of luck and keep us posted.
As soon as we know whats up against us - meaning, as soon as we have the lawsuit and did read through it.
I'm up for that donate thing you guys are providing us great service and keep is away from being a grind slave.
Gb is better to quit while there ahead you and tell blizzard there not going to update or sell the sourse code And this can go on for quite some time and blizzard does not have lawyers they have barristers The diffence in Lawyers and barristers are this lawyers work for 100 dollars a hour and barristers work for around 900 dollars a hour depends really how good they are and there history On a point here I say blizzard has been waiting for some time now to get the right legal advise to head into court and this would not be cheap
It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I still come back and check the forums every once in a while. Sad to hear the news GB team - but you knew the day was coming sooner or later. Now just hope that German courts are more intelligent than US courts, or we'll have a Glider situation all over again. But on the bright side, Glider was in litigation for almost 3 years. If that's the case with HB/GB, WoW will be dead by then - they are already talking about expediting their expansion releases to get the developers working on Titan. Not to mention, having lost 600,000 customers to Rift in the last few months, they are freaking over that. Imagine how many more will leave if they start shutting down the bots.
