I've been farming Bg's on my warlock ( level 85 ) for honor, and someone whisper me i was reported.. i replied within 2 seconds asking what he was talking about, what should i do? Email blizzard about this insanity!?!? EEEK! EDIT: i've been botting for about 1.5 hours.. before that i had a 4 hour break then about 6 hours of play etc and so on, some arena inbetween and other play on characters. Am i in danger?
if you were dumb enough to do SOTA then probably I would be worried as the bot is retarded and doesnt go to the right places before the match and always takes the same path and doesnt go to beach until it starts. Overall disappointed with sota profiles....well most of pvp in that case.
I wouldnt worry about it. People report people all the time. Most likely they just hit "report player" or "report for spam" or whatever. Blizz doesnt know why people report people that way. If you get reported over and over then they'll investigate your account. Continue botting/playing as usual. Use common sense: Don't bot 24/7... stay near your comp so it doesnt act retarded... blah blah blah.
Meh maybe he just said that he was reporting you to scare you. I mean most of the time they just say it to see one's reaction or if they are even there. I know personally even if I saw a fellow botter I wouldnt report him. Most people say they will report you but I doubt if any of them care enough to file a ticket and talk to a gm. Not worth the effort.
If you're really paranoid, change ip, sell all your gear, transfer gold somewhere, then log out, change ip back and report ur bot was hacked and gear needs to be restored.
I wouldn't suggest firing off an email for someone whispering you that you're reported. My advice (since you were at the pc at the time) would be to either A: reply back, "Ignored" and ignore the player and move on, or B: Ignore them. People don't realize that you don't have anything to prove to anyone. No one truly knows how Blizzard finds botters. If this guy really did report you as a botter and a GM investigates, the GM will take into account the fact that you REPLIED to him within seconds. The GM SHOULD take into account anything you've done recently to that timeframe, that is humanlike...such as talking on RealID, whispers, guild etc.
Just keep botting, and use a monitoring plugin to get a notice on whispers, so when a GM whispers you can reply and he can see you actually play like a retard. If you get what I mean.
This happened to me 2 weeks ago, play by hand for a few days if you're worried. I haven't heard about it since i got whispered.
I really liked this response... of course you should have a chat plugin but just as importantly, either continue to bot conservatively or do some BGs yourself... but do them badly even if you can do pvp well - just to show consistant bad play. "I'm not a bot, I just suck at PVP, but I keep tryin to get better"... lol
I ususally don't make posts like this, but if you were dumb enough to bot SoTA then you do indeed deserve to be banned
tbh sometimes when folks whisper me just to check me i intenionally dont respond. Its amuzing seein them alk with /say ad then whisper to check if i m there Never had a issue doing that
1. Do not bg bot 2. Do bot responsibly 3. You will not be banned( You have to be reported 2 times or more for blizzard to act... for now) Find a way to cover your ass before botting wont reveal mine
Source? Unless you have seen that quoted by a blue poster, don't post heresay like that. It spreads misinformation around.
Don't BG bot? Why not? HB2 plays better than the average human player with the right spec and CC. Only problem I had recently was with HB2 playing ice mage spec well enough not to draw attention... might try fire and see if that works better.
Disagree there, plus its so obvious cause of the way it maneuvers. Taking the same paths over and over, sorrounded by players is dangerous
