The Consortium Key Sender (CKS) - Legitimate Background Milling & Prospecting Code: 2. Great... but is this legal. There has been a huge discussion on the matter, and the general verdict is that as long as you are behind the keyboard/mouse and performing some actions yourself, it should be fine. If you would like to read/discuss more on the matter, please refer to this thread. But if you do, please read the whole discussion.
Something tells me it is not. Just because the maker wants it to be does not mean blizzard will agree.
Actually... It is.... What CKS does is take your keyboard input and send it to multiple instances of WoW. Blizzard simply states: Any action in game that is triggered by the played himself is legal. CKS will not enable you to automatically do anything. CKS will only make it possible for you to control multiple toons at the same time but all toons will only do what you tell them to, nothing more and nothing less. I've looked into stuff like this when I was multiboxing and yes, it is legal. Honorbuddy makes your toon do stuff without you telling it to. It will automate every single part of WoW whilst CKS doesn't automate *anything*.
Of course not... Using Lazyraider and Combatbot you are only providing the movement of your toon while HB is selecting and initiating combat that you did not do yourself... Therefore it is still against the TOS.
Proud user of a Logitec G series (and a Microsoft Strategic Commander before) before I discovered Glider and now HB they are not against the ToS couse they are not smart. HB can take decision based on If()Then statements (in the most easy form) instead a program like that (or a G keyboard) just know to press button 1 on your keybord once every 5 sec. no IF required
I write profiles ... does that mean that as a profile writer since I triggered all of this (wrote it) ... it's illegal to ban me? The people who trigger a key also wrote a 'profile' for that program
you do not trigger an action, you set a list of condition upon witch the action is taken. if you use a stick to press a key on the keyboard you trigger an action, even if the "stick" then pres the key 100 times.. at least that's how blizzard seems to see the question
Nope Kick, you're not at the keys when the toon performs his actions. Actually; Blizzard regularly stated that using keyboard-based macros is against the TOS. Using a Logitech G15 with a macrokey that performs a number of actions with just 1 keypress *is* illegal and bannable.
but AFAIK not if the action is always the same. example, if you use a G15 to code a macro that go to the mail, get the mail, go to the bank deposit in bank is bannalbe. if you code a macro that press Key 1 on the keyboard every 5 sec is not bannable (even if on key 1 there is a wow macro that say /mill chindebloom) This at best of my knowledge but ofc I may be wrong
I'm afraid you are wrong indeed. Blizz says that a keypress can only trigger one action. Anything that does more then that is bannable. One action can be the triggering of one in-game macro. It cannot be "press the 1 key every 5 seconds" as that's not 1 action anymore. On the other hand: Good luck trying to identify that Blizz
Blizz told me that a mechanical bot was fine though, as long as it didn't present an advantage to me over another player. The specific question I had was binding my prospecting macro to mouse wheel, and then using a servo motor to spin the mouse wheel forever. As long as I was at the keyboard they were okay with it.
ye i do that now aswel with my razer naga and razer blackwidow chroma keyboard it does the full rotation i got banned last night with the bot again im now playing wow legit without bot and doing alot of dps on lvling im not going to bot again because its only losing money i wil keep botting further in hearthstone there is the risk lesser then in wow
