Abuse of the Economy suspesions have nothing to do with the profiles last month i have 7 toons on public profiles 24/7 and its time to understand what a ban and what a suspension means
Since its so hard to make profiles, 99% of the bans will be from public profiles. As will 99% of the people who didn't get banned.
I used my own profiles and my own CCs with customised combat sequences. My wife had an account suspended after 2 days of use. Yet I had 2 accounts running for 3 days and no suspensions. EDIT: US
It would also be interesting to find out if those people are US or EU. I get the impression that here in the EU we get away with a lot more
I have bots on US and EU. US bots do get reported more - presumably because more Americans are comfortable writing English.
Think EU must be extremely lax on security because I ran my Priest for 7 days solid no breaks as an experiment before botting on my main account. No bans and a hyacinth macaw to boot. Was down for a wee bit maintenance day.
actually, i would have to disagree. since the botting lawsuits, i have yet to see a suspension for 3rd party program. all botting related bans have been abuse. i may be wrong, but this is just what i have noticed
seems that Blizz cant prove if you have a bot or not so they check your gold, your trades your auctions thats why if you sent an email most of the times you will get your acc back but if there is a software detection i am sure that the emails will be for 3rd party programs and not for abuse
That's correlation, not causation. 90% of the people here use public profiles, so of course there will be more of them that got banned. If there are 90 users with public profiles and 10 with private, and 20 public/5 private get banned, it seems like public profiles = more reports. But you need to look at it as a percentage of the userbase (in this example, 22% of the public users would get reported, and 50% of the private). You haven't really proved what you claim.
Ski is 100% correct. To further the point - there are many additional factors to be considered. I just received my first 72 hour suspension. I believe it was a result of a private profile I created in a semi populated area.
Doctors say that Nordberg has a 50/50 chance of living, though there's only a 10 percent chance of that.
