Hello again folks. Here we have my complete tour of Icecrown. This profile was recorded on a character that has never quested in Icecrown, so YMMV on characters in other phases. I've included a large node blacklist here due to the numerous elite mobs in certain areas and the deadly traps other nodes can get your character stuck in, but if you encounter any further problems trying to run this profile I'd be delighted to hear from you. Be sure to add the contents of badnodes.txt to your badNodes.xml file or else you'll find yourself in a world of pain. I recommend starting this route from the ground at the Argent Crusade flightpoint in Icecrown or alternatively from the avalanche in Sholazar. It should also path correctly if you start by flying 15 feet or so above Krasus Landing in Dalaran. Enjoy! ;D
I don't understand how to add the blacklisted nodes.. can someone explain where badNode.xml is and how to use it?
“badNodes.xml” is in the folder where you extracted Honorbuddy from its compressed folder. In order to access the file, you will need an xml editor. I’d suggest using XML marker since it is free and easy to use. Afterwards, you copy and paste the entire bad nodes list posted by Ross as if it were a text document.
You don't need an XML editor you can do it in notepad, wordpad, MS word, etc without issue. Going to check out your map now, looks promising. Will post back with my findings.
Thanks so much. I am currently using a profile that when I come back I have died 30-40 time just for a node lol It was pretty sad. Lost valuable botting time.
This is a pretty solid profile. There's a few kinks that I've seen: 1) Sometimes I'll fly directly over a node and still not notice it. It might be a GB problem though. 2) Zone selection is a bit of a worry. The path takes me through the gate areas with the elites, haven't aggroed onto them, so it might not be a problem. 3) When going through the Vyrkul village, the bot has a tendency to lock onto the caged NPCs and then ignore the Vyrkul. As the caged NPCs cannot be attacked, the bot gets beat up a bit sometimes. 4) Some pathing issues around Corp'rethar. Bot seems to favor flying into the mountains. Overall, still a very good profile.
I've run this profile 12 hours a day for 5 days in a row and it seems pretty solid. I use a tanking DK that still gets killed a lot even with the manual blacklists (~600g repairs in 12 hours). One major problem I found is apparently if you die and your spirit gets sent to the western graveyard when you need to repair, gatherbuddy reports that its trying to repair your gear (while still dead), your character does not move, and you sit there for hours on end doing nothing (10 hours to be exact this fine friday afternoon). This is my first IC profile and I was expecting it to be very high risk to begin with, but I'm a little conserned with the exessive deaths. As far as efficiency, 3 of the 5 runs went all day without any flaws (other than the 600g repairs for the day) and yeilded ~2000 saronite ore and ~10 stacks of titainium ore. If you auctioned the titainium ore (assuming 300g per stack) and vendered the saronite bars, it would be safe to assume you will make anywhere from 4-6k gold per 12 hours, depending on how zealous other miners are on your server that day. (assuming you use a class that isnt afraid to get down and dirty with some mobs). Overall I would rate this profile a 7/10 with marks up on its high titainium output but marks down with the combat perferred classes (DK, warrior, paladin, etc) and high death rate.
Im new to making blacknotes so here i go! Im going go test this out with a rogue, ill let you guys know how it is for a rogue!
the profile for rogues is pretty bad because you have to take out atleast 2-5 guys usually unless you have a good marco system i don't recommend it to people who play rogues.
ran this profile a couple times the first tim i got stuck in on of the spires of icc second time i died a whole bunch third time i left it botting for an hour ended up in the middle of dalaran stuck with no motes collected on any of the runs i even put in all the blacklisted notes worst profile i have ever seen
