Just lost three of my accounts, no big drama though. You bot, you run the risk, I says. What was interesting, though, was the response when I sent in my appeal for the accounts being closed ('Explotivie Activity: Abuse of the Economy' being the reason given). One has been refused, but the other generated a response I've not seen before :- Code: Hello, After a careful investigation of your account closure, we have agreed to remove the permanent suspension of your account from the World of Warcraft servers. This change has already been put into effect, and your account should again be available for play. Having investigated the actions taken against this account, I believe this account may have been accessed via a Proxy Service. We appreciate there are circumstances when use of a Proxy can be beneficial, however such services are routinely used to attempt to hide the actions of Online Trading companies and users attempting to use exploitative third party programs. As such, we do not support the use of Proxy services and if you continue to use these, we regret that this may result in further suspensions placed on your account. Now, I'm unlikely to fully believe what they tell me, but I have been using a VPN on these accounts. It's possible an IP change has triggered this response, but I was wondering if anyone has had this response from Blizz before?
Yeah, when you log in from a different IP it locks the account. I have had this happen multiple times, especially when I was selling accounts. I never used a VPN before so I can't say about that, but I have gone to like my sister in laws and got on the internet there and had my personal account locked because of the change in IP address, even when using the same laptop.
Nope, I don't use an authenticator on any of my accounts anymore. I had one on my main one for a while, but it just got annoying.
VPN it's like an health ensurance for botting... You only get your account automaticly blocked if you want to, and if you get banned for selling/trading they can see someone else (you in this case) has been acessing your account. Anyway, I'll be making a thread about VPN benefits and etc and How to sell gold with less chances to get banned.
Blizzard automatically stop VPNs that are far away from your current location, I live in the UK and I have a high quality log free VPN in the netherlands. Doesn't slow my net down by much, so why not use it 24/7? My account isn't locked on WoW, been working fine the last 3 months I've used my VPN.
I run 9 botting accounts and 4 trading/banking accounts with VPN and I have no problems at all. You just have to be careful not to change VPN country , and if you do wait 1 day until log in back in wow.
Virtual Private Network, pretty much sends all your data to a different computer which then forwards it to where it was first meant to go, then back to the other computer and into yours. That's all laments terms though, I could go a lot more technical.
Well, I have a dedicated IP that's static (The VPN's, my legitimate one is dynamic). I only have one IP, no one else has it, had it for a good 8 months now.
too lazy to google Even @AutomaticCoding ty, I guess its very useful for using many bots with the same IP etc. Tho blizzard can detect it?
Isn't the point of a VPN separating your botting accounts from your gold selling accounts and your main adress/country? Lets say I'm spanish, all my botting accounts are spanish, I'll log them with my real IP some time when I create them. After a month or two after account creation I switch to another country VPN, so that accounts will be acessed from another country, I can say I was hacked if I get banned. Then I can use another country VPN server to sell gold with a vanilla so they can't connect my botting accounts with my vanilla, only by guild. Anyway, I think that's the point on using a VPN, if you have always the same IP on your accounts what's the point then? (Not criticizing, just asking ) Like I said, I'll create a VPN post soon
Hi All, I'm very interested in using a VPN as a means too protect my main from all my bots (currently running 3/4 bots). Is there a way too use a VPN in such a way that I can play on my main directly through my connection yet still run my bots within the VPN? Cheers.
