ShamWOW for HB2 - An Enhance/Elemental/Resto + PVP/RaF Healbot by Bobby53

What bot-setup should I use when I want my resto shaman with the ShamWOW CC to simply follow me around and heal/dispel me wherever I go on my main, manually played character? Ideally I?d want it to follow and heal me in arenas and BGs too.

 

If you're worried about the not so bright ones only looking at HPS and not effective healing... setting your presets extremely high might be your best option. Technically, it's working as intended (if not better than intended). The point of this CC is to heal people, not to overheal people. Unfortunately in raids people think HPS is all that matters. "Look how many times I can cast my AoE heals! I'M THE BEST HEALER EVER!"

You'll have such a small amount of overhealing it's ridiculous. The amount of true effective healing this bot does can't be touched by most, if any one. Wish Recount would default the "Healing done" to "Effective healing done"

 

wait so recount takes into account overhealing? i was sure it didnt wich meant that the bot was doing nearly nothing lol.

and thats why i said it was working as intented but i would like to bot to do healing rain a little more often and whatnot. because other healers seem to heal ppl as im casting a heal wich in turns makes the bot cancel the cast, but then the same person gets damaged as i cancel the cast so he starts casting again.... anyways im not sure if you understand what i mean but ill try it in 10 man raids and see how it does.

is this good enough for regular dragon soul with ilvl 380 healing gear?

 

punisher775, I would view it more as you ending up in a good group, but to each his own. There is no purpose in overhealing, so the issue isn't cancelling heals in progress that aren't needed (which a pro healer does.) It's that other healers beat you to the heals because of anticipating the need. A few quick observations:
.
1. There is never a situation where a log isn't needed. In this case, I would be able to see what settings you had in use along with other pertinent information. As it stands, I can only provide advice which you may have already taken. That just ends up wasting your time and mine.

2. Mana regen to Shaman is like money to Gordon Gecko... You can never have enough

3. If the most damaged player has already been healed, there is little point in healing more.

4. Spamming Chain Heal will overheal, but you will also be sniping heals from others since you are casting a heal when it isn't needed.

5. The problem isn't cancelling a heal that isn't needed. The problem is that it didn't begin casting a heal when it wasn't needed, hence 5 other healers had a chance to snipe the heal from you.

6. ShamWOW is reactionary. It does not cast anticipatory heals which I hope a skilled player would.

7. I'll look at possible alternatives for the future, but it's not a high priority compared to some other needs at the moment.

I don't know what settings you had in use (oh were there a log file attached.) Go to the Group Healing tab of the Class Options and do the following:
a. Click the Raid Healing presets button.
b. Enable Heal Pets
c. Change Healing Wave to 97%
d. Change Chain Heal to 96%
e. Do not change anything else

You will now cast more heals and sooner, as well as overheal more (thus burning through more mana than you should.)

There is a healing rain preset button. If you use that, make sure you have specced your character appropriately as it requires a different build to use successfully.

Actually, that was wrong... Recount does only look at effective healing. My bad.

However, it still doesn't mean much other than you're casting AoE often. The problem being you have 6 healers in LFR. If 3 of those healers precast AoE spells there's no reason for the other healers to do anything but focus the tanks. LFR is just a huge AOE fest. I can normally be one of the top in healing in LFR with a 380 shaman. However, if I get a few healers that are AoE heavy... I'm much lower on the chart.

In all honesty, in LFR if you want to top the healing meters... you could probably turn everything off but Chain Heal and Healing Rain and heal the Raid Only. ** Has not been tested don't blame me if it doesn't work

 

Hey Bobby. Decided to roll a Shaman a few weeks back, and now that I'm 85, and used your CC to procure myself a full set of season 11 pvp gear as resto in the Battlegrounds, I decided to give it a go in the Dragon Soul LFR tool today... Worked great, except one issue I noticed.. After Ultraxion, while fighting Warmaster Blackhorn, it kept trying to cast Riptide on someone who I believe was dead at the time, and basically just sat there with the cursor "highlighted" as if it were waiting for me to select a valid target. Anyways, the entire log is included. Thanks for the great work you put into ShamWOW, its hands down the best CC available for any class.

likwid, Thanks for the excellent post! I will look into this further tomorrow as I am travelling at the moment. In the meantime if you encounter that situation, you can currently workaround by pressing the ESC key. I'm sure you already know what to look at, but I remember CnG saying something about that call being broken.

Oh, something I forgot to mention in my previous post.. After I noticed the unwanted behavior happening, I opened the LazyRaider settings and checked the first tick box, I forget what it says verbatim but it's something along the lines of "No Leader". And that seemed to clear up the issue - either that, or maybe the issue just didn't come up again coincidentally. I'll run a few heroics and LFR again tomorrow Bobby and let you know what I come up with. Thanks again..

 

Hi. I'm experiencing an issue where the bot begins to pull and it spams searing totem from 3 to 15 times before it begins to cast anything. This happens quite often. I started the toon from level 1 and it is now level 25 wearing no boa's. Works amazing. This happens alot but one time I could estimate the occurrence would be 12:20AM.

Thanks for passing along. I don't see it very frequently, so when it doesn't appear my assumption is that just hasn't encountered the event that triggers it more than a combination of settings or situations where it won't occur. I'll spend extra time looking at the impact of "No Leader" upon the healing code flow since its possible. Thanks for passing along, Bobby53

Would love to see it do more Chain Lightnings for trash, is there something I can modify?

 

I've also noticed that it holds on to MW5 stacks for too long and just keeps doing the normal enhancement rotation without casting any CL/LB and consuming MW5

Hey Bobby, just an idea. I've noticed that when my shaman has 3-4 mobs on him it just does the normal single target rotation.
Wouldn't be better, in a 3+ mob scenario, to spam chain lightning since they removed the cooldown?

I haven't manually tried it, or read any theorycrafting about it, just thinking out loud .
