Whispered reported

Same exact thing here. I got whispered the other day while I was watching the bot and the guy whispered me like 3 times in a row. So I asked him what the hell he wanted. He said "it was just a test". I said for what? He said "to see if you were a bot". I said yes I am, a very advanced one. He laughed then said something about how many people are bots in the zone and that he whispers all of them and reports any that don't answer. I asked him how that was working out for him. He told me how he had gotten like 5 people banned that week. I'm calling bullshit but who knows. People are just dicks sometimes but I guess with all the bots it drives the prices down for the idiots that actually farm shit.

First WoW is not dying from bots, it's dying from no good content and ideas.
Second Blizzard is not "LAZY" they just don't ban most people, because they are losing money like that you do understand that Blizz are the most greedy bas*ards in the world, right ?
Third Also wrong. Botters are the only people who report, because most of the times only they can tell a bot from a regular person.

 

WoW is dying because Warden sucks.

Every bg you see atleast 2-3 botters with HB being the most obvious one because it always makes the same moves if using bg-bot.

 

i know i could spot other HB's users in minutes it make an Example like in Arithi basin they go to the first flag from horde side then captured the flag and stand on the same spot with 3 4 people lol

 

Today i had 2 botters in my team in WsG...

They were so fast clicking flag returns so it was silly

 

Ya that guy is BSing you because Blizzard doesn't reveal to you what they do when you report someone. I DONT report bots, but if you start saying racial slurs in trade and being a general asshat, I will report that crap in a heartbeat.

Ignore him blizzard don't release consequences of a report. Some people generally do not notice whispers as I have tabs for each of my chats, such as global channel, guild, party and whispers. So even when playing I do not always reply.

You cannot be banned for not replying as it is up to you whether you wish to reply. You can report them for harassing however. Whether they think your a bot can be appealed easily.

 

I agree, been botting for years. Having a bot jack your node you just killed 3 mobs to get and then having a addon tell you your ignored is even a bigger piss off. I bot and would go out of my way to get a ignorant player like this banned, Instead of just being piised off for 2 mins about him jacking my node.

This is why you make sure player avoidance is check marked, no need to be a douche botter.

Tickets are looked at immediately from battle.net and replied to few mins after depending on nature of ticket. No more 3 day waits for tickets boss. Get with the times

I disagree, not answering gets people to open tickets. Gm's will message you on a regular character, they will also message you and buy that 100 stacks of ore off you in trade then ban you.
It has happened to me before.

Example of this(True story):

(Trade) Swizzie:WTS Few stacks of Ore
(whisper) level 85 paladin: How many stacks?
(whisper) Swizzie A few, how much you need? I dont sell that often i just let it stack up in my bank then sell when i have no room.
(whisper) Level 85 paladin Well i will buy whatever you have, i need a ton of ore.
(whisper) Swizzie Well lemme look, 50 stacks?
(whisper) Level 85 paladin Sure thats great!

Ore is traded money is paid,...........15 seconds later:

You have been disconnected from the server.

That story is a bit too extreme, but it wouldn't surprise me that they do whisper you from regular toons.
One of my newest accounts was mining in Hyjal yesterday (82 Paladin) and I randomly get a whisper from a 20ish Paladin asking for advice.

Now, if I was in a city, or if I was 85 I could understand it. But a L82 in the middle of Hyjal? Dunno... seemed suspicious...

I'm not a fan of those ignore/reply addons either. That said, 99% of the time I bot I'm in front of the computer so I can catch any whisper,
even though I hardly ever get any (and I'm in one of the highest pop US servers).

 

Get an addon that makes a sound when you are whispered and only run bot when you are around (even if you are asleep, as long as it will wake you). That way, you can give a coherent reply.

The last thing (described by Swizzy) is really odd tho..considering that if you had only mining bags, you could gather that much ore before having to return back to unload.

 

This doesnt prove that the 85 paladin was a GM you can't get banned for having 50 stacks of ores and what has selling them to do with them whispering you on regular character? They can't check your inventory so they have to trade with you to see if u really have 50 stacks of ores? I srsly doubt.

 

When i get a message from somebody.

I say "sorry, im using a new chat addon and its putting people in tabs for some stupid reason and i just saw your message whats up?"

 

Nope but if you always use the same toon to ah on on US servers all they have to do is Goto undermine journal and look your posting history up.

Some douche in a low level instance made me spill my coke, I wasn't doing any important work so I had WoW on my 2nd screen and my favourite forum on my 1st, someone said "***** is obviously a bot", I saw it, put my coke down on my table and replied "No I'm not? l2detectbots". I swung my arm around to get my coke and I spilt it.

This is why you should never reply to people in WoW. Coke > WoW account.
