They sue HB because they dont want to lose all of its subscribers, however if they lose the case they will have only 1 way out - work to detect & ban everyone.

      A ban wave is impossible.

Honorbuddy has trip wires in place so if blizzard do anything to detect it they shut down the bot untill its undetected.

You Sir are wrong, There is bypasses around that.

You really think the dev's have the time to check every single code with every major content update?

Id say atleast 300k accounts are using HB

Blizzard wouldnt ban them, they already lost 800k subs in 9 months, so it wouldnt be in their best interest.

i have a feeling they are just establishing ground rules for their next mmo, it could be the case anyway. its probably the best thing they can do at this moment done and i hardly doubt bossland will make an attempt at a diablo iii bot either for now hehe.

and after all, as much as i have always loved exploiting game mechanics or messing with game data, most players perceive us as leeches ruining the game for them. even if that might not be true, i dont think the existance of bots necessarily increases he games popularity. banning all botters wouldnt either and imho the rift guys have made a grave mistake doing so. now scaring off companies for their next game seems like a good idea. IF they win the arguement that is and IF bossland takes serious damage. i cant blame blizzard for the way theyre handling things, even if id personally hate to see a botless game. plus, bossland hasnt really enjoyed my utmost sympathy seeing how they handled their gui upgrade.

Were not leeches, Botters make things affordable.

If there were no people botting and everybody had to do things by hand imagin how much people would actually charge for herbs and other items.
There would be limited supply of herbs and ores on every server and probably wouldnt be enough to meet supply, imo we do blizzards server economy a great deal of good!

yo sir are correct.. and i know i used to be in a server where pop was so danm low that there was no herbs or ore.. i saw max ppl farming in uldum deep and twight around 4-5 ppl that was including my 2 bots on each zone... so in other words i was the only guy supplying the danm server.. i had tons of mats and ore but when i tried to sell to chinise it was .15 cents per k.... and they would only take 100k every week.... so yeah in other words botters make things alot easier..

thats nonsense. Botters are the cause that people can`t earn any solid amount of ingame currency by farming ... If u bot then be honest enough to yourself to admit that you take something away from other people.

and the supply ofc will find its equality with demand. When prices are good enough that peeps say: cool, its profitable to farm some stacks. they will go and farm them ...

botters are indeed better for wow economy... me myself and many, many people are just too lazy to farm some stupid mats so u can enchant/gem your character to play some radis/arenas/rbgs. i would rather buy cheap gold and then buy mats then wasting my time to farm by hand... really.

if thats the way you do it then do it, but they are killing the economy in reality. And: as I said before: botters, killing the prices of stuff, are the cause that peeps cant earn ingame-currency without heavily increased efforts! So they are forced to buy gold for real-money. But I can understand that u align your philosophy to what ur doing. I am no exception to be honest....but its nonsense to lie to yourself about the "rosy-botting-business".

To say that botters are leaches is an ignorant statement.

Cheap labor allows a level of production to support such high populations. It is a fact of industrialization. This is the niche botters play in the wow economy.

If the value of a users time is higher than what another is willing(or can afford) to pay for it, then that user will not farm. So the argument that people will start farming in a post botting world of warcraft is false.

Human time is expensive and computer time is cheap. This principle, to me, is a justification of botting and has allowed blizz to sustain its high volume of casual gamers. What do you think casual gamers will do when they are broke, low level, and their 2 hours of daily game time must be spent picking herbs? If blizz eradicates botters, they wont just lose the botting accounts.

Hes right though. Think about your argument. You are basically saying that machines are bad for the world.

Users are paying for a non-bot game...and they do this because in a non-bot environment the economy is ok. But again it does not surprise me that you come up with fancy explanations why stealing is not stealing and morally ok.

My personal justification was that its ridiculous that blizzard does not really go against them. I was so pissed off about botters that I finally joined them since Blizz. does a shit to give me what I paid for. A non-bot MMORPG. At least I think they are doing double-dealings in that way.

and every time you put a botted stack up on AH you just stole the deal from a honest person who is not selling his honestly farmed stuff. Aka: the time he has invested in farming. If we talk about time: you even increase the time players need to invest to farm up some materials and to earn gold ofc.

Competing with the manual farmer is not stealing. If I farm with a tractor and you farm with a hoe, am I stealing from you?

When I am gone, is the manual farmer going to have enough time to supply all my customers? My cheap labor has allowed the customers to enjoy a higher standard of playing.
