So I bought a legit 1 day key from here and I'm guessing my network is blocking HB, I type the key in and it just returns Auth failed so I'm pretty sure the Auth server is blocked for me.

      Any solutions?

open your ports on the pots hb/gb is using?
(Buy a year long code would also help :D)

      udp and tcp port 5031

      run hb as admin

allow hb through your firewall / router (and said ports if that doesn't solve it)

      after that...

I got the same issue the first time I installed HB. It simply would not work... then I restarted my pc, and everything was fine, sooo in the wise words of The IT Crowd "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

No its not fixed. The IT dept at my campus is lazy and incompetent, they block every port and even had the port blocked that is used for my online lecture videos at the beginning of last semester....

It could be that or it could be that they just don't know what ports are used for what. So what do you do when that happens?... You block everyone of them till someone times you they are pissed and need this and that unblocked.

Wow, your IT Dept fucking sucks.
I'd be complaining near 24/7 until they grew some balls and opened their network up more.

Probably set up a quick Email Gen/Send prog just so it'd be a lot easier for me :p

Its aggrivating, and they just go under the guise of... well we have non-students living in your building so we need to be stricter... I really don't want to pull the "You are an ISP, you need to abide by the net neutrality act when it comes to traffic in/out" because it will just piss them off
