Some features:
- Two-way chat, works correctly with special/accent characters now (it didn't due to limitations in Glider back in the day)
- Viewing screenshots
- Sending keystrokes and mouse clicks
- Listing of all loot, mobs killed, rep received, skills gained
- Graph of player health/mana and target health over time
- Built-in webserver that duplicates two-way chat, log viewing, and screenshot viewing functionality, I improved this greatly since JGlideMon's last release, it also includes a mobile-optimized version (only tested with iPhone)
- Text-to-speach of whispers (optional feature, a little gimmicky perhaps)
- Runs on any computer Java can run on (theoretically)

I don't know if anyone recalls, but I had released a monitoring program for Glider back in the day. I had taken a break from WoW for some time but of course came back eventually. Anyway I was curious if I could still get use out of my program, which was the reason for starting GliderRemoteCompat in the first place since I obviously couldn't use Glider anymore.

I've mentioned the basic features but I actually wrote quite a decent help file (if I do say so myself) that is included and goes over the features and how to use it. You can also view the documentation online.

I've been working on a plugin that aims to replicate the functionality of MMOGlider's remote interface. If anyone recalls, you could telnet into Glider and type various slash commands to get status/logging or to control the bot. Theoretically if anyone still has copies of monitoring applications for Glider they could still work. Not every feature of the original is available but there is enough there to get some feedback and to see if there is enough interest to warrant me spending more time on it.

NOTE: HB WILL CRASH IF YOU RECOMPILE PLUGINS WHILE GLIDERREMOTECOMPAT IS ENABLED!!!
If you need to recompile plugins, disable GliderRemoteCompat first. I haven't yet figured out how to avoid this.

Once you enable the plugin, assuming you don't change the settings, you can connect via telnet (assuming you installed it as I believe it's an optional package in Windows 7 now) by going to Start -> Run -> "telnet localhost 3200" <enter>.

The screen will be blank waiting for you to enter the password, which is empty by default so just hit enter. Then type /help <enter> to see the available commands. Commands marked with * are not yet implemented.


Some of the main things that are working:
- /capture command to get screenshot
- Chat log**, including seeing whispers and loot
- Status display
- Starting/stopping the bot

Some of the things I have not worked on:
- combat log
- sending chat, key/mouse clicks
- changing profiles
- changing config settings

** As far as I can tell, HonorBuddy only pulses LUA events while a bot is actually running. It seems to queue them up and send them all at once when you do start. If I recall Glider was able to send the chat log regardless, but I could be wrong.

 

There is a choice of zip or exe, it is open source as you may notice it's hosted on Google Code, and I added a virus scan. In any event, the plugin certainly is not an executable.

If you examine the svn commit log you will see this has existed for several years.

 

so i dont get it? this is a plugin for honorbuddy? or your request for someone to make something that works the same for honorbuddy?

 

as i understand it , yeah, its a plugin that opens a telnet daemon into honorbuddy session, wich you can then use from you want, including some old monitors made for glider nice work

Also im normally just using LogMeIn to watch my bot when im not around home, this makes me able to control the computer from far distances and also still gives me a secrutiy about other people getting into my pc. I think that this have worket really great, but im again looking for something simpler, as the LogMeIn often lags quite a bit, do you think that this plugin could be anything for me?

I used this extensively back in the Glider days. Great tool.
Maybe timglide came from Pirox, seeing as how his join date here was only 3 days before Pirox went offline. Nobody thought to ask him?

Bumping because I'm releasing version 1.0 of both JGlideMon and GliderRemoteCompat (though their version numbers will not necessarily coincide in the future). See first post for download links.

I will provide more details on JGlideMon's features soon when I have a little more time.

 

If you downloaded JGlideMon between last night and this post I'm afraid you'll have to redownload due to an error in my build script. The corrected files are on the Google Code site now. This does not affect GliderRemoteCompat.

 

Added some pictures finally to try to entice you to give it a try.

 

Just wanted to add that I respect all the other available monitoring options such as jMon, but since I had already invested so much of my time into this during the Glider days I felt it would be worthwhile to invest a little more time to make it work with HonorBuddy. To that end I believe I have been successful and I am pleased so far with the result, at least to the extent that I use HB and want to monitor it.

The main idea was to get JGlideMon working with HonorBuddy in the first place with its existing feature set first before attempting to add any additional features. For this reason you won't see anything like honor/hr, which HB supplies. If there is continued interest, I may add HB-specific features in the future. Honestly I actually put a lot more time into the 1.0 release of JGlideMon than I anticipated just to correct existing bugs and improve existing features to a more usable state that would have been welcome additions back when Glider was active.

In any event I do hope there is some interest still.
