      ***Notice of Account Closure***

      Account Name: WOW1

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behaviour is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation. I'd bet on the gold trade. Since the price has dropped so much you must give a bit larger amount of gold for a Game Card thus increasing your chances of the trade being noticed. It's most probably it, make a dispute nonetheless and be persistent. Sooner or later, they'll unban it. You know how people say: "It's not the pretty one who gets laid, it's the persistent one".

the ban doesnt mention botting, do you sell gold?

if you dont sell gold then i'd suggest telephoning the helpline and suggesting that its unsubstantiated.

you could have got banned for buying a gamecard, although they dont tend to do this in my experience, as its counterproductive for business. One would assume that there is evidence of such a transaction though if there was one. I'm no expert but its an odd ban notice without evidence of any transfer, the botting message is much easier for them to prove etc.

No, thats not getting you banned. A Game Master stated that it is allowed to pay gold for WoW services - such as Game Cards, Mounts, Character transfers etc.
I know it sounds ironic as they're not allowing gold selling in general. I can't find the post of the GM atm, but will try to find it later.
Anyways, the auctions most likely got you flagged.

P.S.: I did make a ticket, asking if it is allowed to pay gold to someone who buys a - let's say - character transfer, and the reply was that it is okay, and they're not doing anything about it.

so yea "G" im not sure how your logic works If someone can find this Blue post id really like to see it, followed by much much MUCH less censorship on this forum... as a customer i like to make up my own mind of what is theory or fact! and in that post i linked the OP is quiet logical. while alot of what he says is speculation it is more helpful to me than nearly any of the official threads!
