Ok looks like i got hit by a ban hammer as well, something I figure that would never happen... Was using my own private TH path, never botted more than 2-3 hours, always somwhere near my computer while botting, using well tested human-like CC's... Never had excessive amounts of gold, was botting only to fit my personal needs, once/twice a week... Was very active manually on that account also, raided / arenas / did dailies... So the ban came as quite a surprise to me. So i go ahead and call Blizz EU with my "confused what's going on" story and the guy on the other side says "no sir I am looking at your case right now and you have been DETECTED of using illegal 3rd party programs/bots". I NEVER used anything other than HB. Now it might be only bad choice of words, or it may not. Anyway, I consider myself pretty damn careful botter who though he can never be detected but I guess... It can happen to anyone. At the end they revised my ban to 72 hour one cause its my first offense blah blah so I get to keep the acc, witch is nice. Will think twice about botting again, at least on that one.
yep, blizzard reps love to toss that word around without them really knowing what it is. chances are a gm watched you saw "bot like" behavior, "Detected" there was a bot and banned you. not only that but if we where detected, and blizzard could do a software detect, they wouldnt let people off the hook, they didnt have solid proof in the first place.
Hi, Get this morning a 72h bann, too. Reason: Using illegal 3rd party programs (Gatherbuddy2). TIP: start your bot in 2 weeks and look at ur online times. greetz -> my mate get a bann, too. -> called blizzard and get his acc back
There is no banwave. People are being stupid. Not this guy but people bot for days straight, then are confused when they get banned. There is no banwave but Blizzard is keeping a closer eye on suspicious behavior. be smart, use good profiles and you will be fine. And seriously, if you have 5+ accounts, USE DIFFERENT B.NET ACCOUNTS.
I got banned today aswell, (2 accounts) one of them were just fishing in uldum with AA (hideout @ cliffs) and the other one was using GB2 farming herbs in twilight highlands.
Is on all my signatrue, but using words like detected, ban wave. OMG the mayans where right. The world is ending in 2012!!!
I got one account 1 suspended for 72h(1-2h ago) coz "abuse of economy". Intresting fact.. with that toon wich they said i abused the economy i'v never placed something over the AH only botting.
I have read alot of the "banned" posts lately and it really seems that they are just taking a more active roll in finding botters. As has been said countless times before in other posts, if HB was "Detected" in a sense where you were immediately banned or, at the very least, flagged when you logged in then you would see countless posts pertaining to it. However, like the OPs case, where the representative used "Detected" in the explanation, then that seems as simple as a report and a gm looking into the situation. I can only immagine the hundreds upon hundreds of reports that flow into them daily. I would even go as far to say that alot of the reports are coming from fellow botters especially on higher pop servers. Pure speculation on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Botters know how to spot botters...sure its a majority botter reporting botter If you are selling gold, you consider it your turf. If you bot for self gain you really dont care who does what
nah just speak for yourself. only because you're reporting other botters does not mean, most botters do it. silly. i have the feeling you just wanna scare ppl, at least i don't believe blizzard would write "gatherbuddy2" in their email. never seen or heard this before and it would makes no sense for them to write the exact bot in the email, since "using 3rd party programms" is enough and they don't change the content manually for each bot lol. @detection if blizzard is able to detect HB they would ban you the moment you use it or likely just disconnect you. there would be no need to sue bossland.
this. in direct communications with blizz they have shown to have a loose definition of the word "detection". in the case of bots most would define it as direct identification of the application running on the client side - for them they believe it to be meeting the criteria of the server side statistical/behaviour analysis.
No doubt, Blizzard has stepped up, however this does NOT mean that they have detected HB or anything in that matter, nor is there a banwave coming.
