I am seen a unusual amount of ban threats been posted. No banwave but I am thinking it has to do more with pirox, while there is some other related casualties in the mix.

Why I think is related to pirox? First of all it seems mostly are new HB/GB members this mean A. they came from pirox or B. they are new to botting. Now my other point for thinking it has something to do with pirox is this shared account been banned. This account is a friend of mine I teach him how to use pirox in that account. I ask him to share his new battle.net (note the account hasent been played since cata hit and only pirox was used here), and for surprise account is locked. He will try to recoup emails see if he has anything from blizz.

Now, what I am want to say more as a bouncing idea or discussion topic. Since pirox closed without notice, could it be they are tracking down old pirox users they had flagged and maybe pirox give them access to the code written to the cpu and they can confirm the usage? What it needs to be asked is if the banned person used pirox in the last 6 months...

Please if you can add to the conversation and only can flame please avoid it. Lets keep a clean threat here.

Wouldn't suprise me. However I have never used pirox on my new accounts and since then have switched isp providers and I still got banned. 2 accounts where not even 85 so yea, could be 1 factor but it is not the main cause

That's what I am saying. There is some casualties not related that are happening simultaneously to this. But have you used pirox before? in the same machine?

It seems they are simply more vigilant these weeks on EU or they auto-ban based on some patterns.

guys, making up "Theory" only scares people more, whatever is happening is happening, but for the most part all the people who have been getting caught have made mistakes, like posting tons of auctions.

I agree with G on this one. Seems flagged accounts like player reports, Use of Vpn's etc.. anything flagging your account/suspicious activity will get you a ban
Depending on the reason for flagging they generate you a BS reason why you where banned and wait for you to appeal.

If Ram was scanned and HB detected every HB user would be banned, not just <1%.

This is just evidence gathered for months and the ban button hit to make it seem like a MASS ban wave, when its just a scare tactic.

      WTS Rubies x 300
      WTS Whiptail 300 stacks
      WTS 200 stack of Elementium
      WTS Volatile Life x 1000

People are not stupid they know you are botting and report you. Stop lying to yourself and smarten up

but your accounts are linked in some way. To one(s) you are selling/mailing/posting on.

but we will never know how Blizzard bans and why anything anyone says is theory anyways so what does all these posts even matter

hm in my opinion its a higher ban risk if your chars have never done anything considered normal player actions, like instances, raids etc. only ones of my accounts affected by this were the ones who never set foot inside an instance.

Yeah some guy was selling 400+ items a day and not a bunch of random stuff accumulated in all his alts banks. If all your stuff is making big money and the amount you're selling requires you to be botting non-stop, everyday for weeks and multiple accounts are all mailing to this one random character whose auctioning it off... all coming from the same ISP. That's not suspicious at all.... haha.

It also doesn't help if they've been accumulating reports about you looking like you're botting and being unresponsive to group invites (whether accepting, or sending a message that you're busy) or some guy following you around while your account farms and you don't respond to any of his messages. Then again, you could just be antisocial :p

I agree there is people doing dumb stuff witch gets them a ban. Now my post is more a discussion point than a theory, I know I added some points that makes look like a theory. Including my colleagues account. Was trying to have a different approach at conversation. For example I have seen people buy guilds and invite people and connect all bots there and have a community with other people. I have seen guilds with the same 4 people in the same areas every night.

Here is one of my example of operations:

All my accounts have at least 1 alt banker, nice white cloths, bags. In 1 account I have other professions (alchy/jc/ench/etc) not all tho. 1 account always sells the raw materials of herbs, while it doesn't sell ore. But this account sometime perform ore prospecting and sells the gems, even I have a dedicated gem seller. I don't COD daily to same clients, I have a list and every other day I COD some stuff. Always looking for new buyers. Sometimes I drop a bomb sale in trade and sell the ore for quite a few gold under the price. If the current is 85g I will sell for 70g. This way I clean inventory. I know some places you can get stuck, and go stuck myself and open a ticket. Sometimes I do delete and epic item and open a ticket for GM to help me. I sometimes let a noob scam me, even I know he is trying to scam me. But this way I have an issue to open a ticket for.

Now kids, don't think this is anti-botting technique and be opening tickets for everything. But a bot won't open a ticket :D
The difference between a botter and non-botter is your behavior.

i couldent really give you any factual information about Pirox, however i can tell you your NiC is traceable (network card \ hardware) some forums of software copyright use\used it not so long ago as a way to verify you owned the product.. kinda the same as windows checking ur bios on OEM... but weather blizz can or do use this is another story and would be pure speculation "from me at leased"

and now for my 2 cents

i see the main thing that will get you banned as pattern recognition. to me this could be but is no where near limited to - running the same paths or mixing the type of profession up in the end ur still doing the Farm round. weather this is done for 2-4 hours each day or more, its an easily see-able pattern " for someone watching for it" especially IF your not intervening on your bots actions rather constantly or at a bare minimum playing your character while its not bot-in...

this is of course my personal experience and opinion of how a normal person who has played from 8-18 hrs per day for years on end would farm.
i have been playing since 2005 (never used a bot until 2 weeks ago), high end guild to casual guilds and alot of top end PvP. from all that time over 800 days Played time on my "main" (addiction), i can say i have never needed to farm for more than 1 hour per day MAX, to keep all my gear at tip top shape (in most cases i have excess gold from instances or rep farming and these days achievement farming)... i have brought 10k gold once in all of theses years, and that was only because i needed instant epics for a new toon i had leveled for guild tanking.

however my preference of Needing to buy that mount off AH for 150k is "yea keep it buddy! i already have every vendor\drop mount in game why would i use that one?" if i wanted the mount bad enough i would have needed to farm for it.. but we all know these days manually solo farming cata instances for Enchant mats makes gold faster than ore\herbs\fish.

I lost 27 accounts in 2010 like that. If a real GM is looking at your accounts, they link them up and ban the lot.

What killed me was that I had just bought LK and got the toons to 76 to start farming Sholazar. And all banned after the first gold sale from a vanilla account in a linked guild
