I would give it a try uninstalling DirectX9. Something could be corrupted and is causing the errors.

What's the difference between "Dell Factory Image Restore" and Reformat. Would they work equally as well?

the factory image reinstall all the stuff that was on their when you bought your pc, if you can, and you know how, its better to do a clean install so all that bloat ware isnt re-installed.

Gotcha, would I need Dell to send me a disk with windows 7? Apparently, they don't give it to you anymore in their laptop package. Also, I went into "msconfig" and disabled all the startup items and system services (except the microsoft ones) and I'm sitting in the middle of Stormwind on a max population server with no crashes... I don't know if I should log out and try again lol I'm scared to log back out.

This tells me something was conflicting with the directx drivers. You would need Dell to send you a a Windows 7 disk, They changed their policy about 4 years ago to only setup a restore petition on the hard drive. You could do the restore and just delete everything not useful :)

I guess I could keep turning off system services if it allowed me to play :D But you're right, a restore would be a lot easier and would be less maintenance :) I'm going to stay logged in for a while lol just to enjoy it while I can. Thank you ytok and everyone that helped! I really hope this keeps working. If it doesn't *sigh* I'll be back. haha

if you do reinstall heres my suggestion. update all drivers, use drivermax to backup your drivers, google "official windows 7 repository" it will tell you step by step how to install windows 7. i recommend using nvidia's beta drivers if your card supports it. after reinstall run drivermax to reinstall your drivers. this way you wont have to order a cd from dell.

hey quick. I do have the drivers cd from Dell so that's no problem. However, what is the "windows 7 repository" for? Is that if I completely reformat my computer instead of the "Dell Factory Image Restore"?

Update Status: Dell is coming out to replace the memory and video card (Geforce 540M - from what I've seen, a lot of people have trouble with this card). I did a FULL reformat of my comp, updated the drivers, installed WoW, and got a lovely BSOD... I'm playing on a laptop, does anyone know the best place to get drivers for Nvidia? The ones from the Dell website suck and the Nvidia drivers from their website aren't always the best for a laptop. Any suggestions?
