BG buddies overpopulating battlegrounds

Have you ever monitored you bot during the night hours?

last night I came from a party and decided watch my bot a lil. It was fucking hilarious

it was 4AM, EU servers, level 80-84 bracket
Alliance

My bot joined IoC
- It mounted and ran up to the gates
- There were 32 other characters mounted(most of which were gryphons) and waiting at a random spot just a few yards away from the gates
- There were 5 characters mounted and 'stuck' to the gates
- A dismounted mage at the left side of the gate
- 2 characters standing in the spawning spot

First funny thing

- The mage casted refreshment table
AND EVERYBODY Ignored it, lol
he was like, click the table, then no answer and he was like wtf and mounted

As the battle begun and gates opened up,

all the 32 characters (obvious buddies)

- They all done the same movement, ALL of them, stopping, and moving again at the EXACT same times
- As the gates opened, none of them went for docks, the first minute all of them were wondering about the gates/teleport area, mounting, dismounting, moving to a random spot, stopping etc, ALL of them, in a group
- Then the gates closed, and they all went for teleport and then headed for that middle base, i think its hangar
- The other players went for docks and glaived down the gates in minutes (they kept /bg ing: 'Lol look at how many bots we got' or some where like, 'lol are you people retarded, why defending')
- They kept calling for aid to kill the boss but none of the 32 strong botters answered the call, they were all busy farming HKs at ally front gates
- Then like 5 horde siege vehicles and those demolishers just ran over the 32 bots who were all sent to docks GY
- They all released and headed for the boss
- Meanwhiloe the hordes took down the front ally gates and went for the boss
- When the ally bots finally reached the horde boss, they all kept whiping as none of the humans or the bots were tank spec and only a human and a bot were healing
- Horde killed the ally boss and the game ended

I have skipped a lot of buddy specific movement they were all doing but it was damn funny watching that game

long story short -

I will never ever again AFK bot BGs during the night

What do you guys think? What is your xp with this?

thats what i say, if there is just 1 bot in the business all will use the same. but on the other side, did see a lot of pvp-bans here, mostly GB2. so it look like its still ok the way it works right now.

 

Yeah I saw the same thing, the funniest one was one AB match where 8 members of my team including me where riding around the same path, and then we ran into the enemy bot team. The battle between both teams of bots raged on for the entire match in a remote location between farm and lumber mill DD My Dk managed to get around 40 killing blows and the amazing thing was nobody even said anything in chat. I stopped using bgbuddy unattended at that point

as much as the bg buddy is clever, I think it needs to be deleted.. gathering nodes proffesions. assisting wiht raids etc is ok in my book.. but the bg thing is out of control

 

or create your own profile and overwrite the bg profiles that come with hb. "there is an app for that." seriously, no joke, there is

 

or there is always the possibility that ever one else should just stop bg botting and leave it all to you ... we are VERY fortunate for the dev's of this bot and they ONLY way to imporve is to tell them whats up. hopefully they are working on a more randomized path. and if your CC is shit its going to be even worse. stop complaining and dont use it pretty simple fix

As "smart" as BGbuddy is, it seriously has its flaws. Can someone explain to me why it is made without the ability to write your own profiles?!?! I have never understood the understanding behind making it a proprietary bot. Open it up for people to be able to create their own profiles for it, Ala Pirox(hate to beat a dead horse, but PVPtool was faaaaar superior for BG than HB).

 

You CAN create your own profiles for it...don't even need those other coordinates anymore, just the XYZ hotspots. I think you misunderstood a misunderstanding.

 

yep, you can make your own custom battleground profiles for it, they are in the BGbuddy folder inside your default profiles folder.

 

Unless this has changed recently, you can not create your own profiles for BGbuddy. You use to be able to with pvpbot, but not BGBot, and I am 95% certain that BGbuddy is not able to have custom profiles associated with it. Could I get a dev to clarify this plz?

EDIT: I stand corrected CNG responded as I was responding myself.

EDIT2: Even though you can modify the XYZ hotspots, it is my understanding that the bot will still use its logic to go wherever it wants, which is usually the same exact spot every other bot is trying to go to that are in there with you. What I meant is it would be nice to have the option to create paths like pirox did, along with the option to choose a random path after death. So if I had 8 different paths for AB, the chances are very unlikely that it would be following the path of another bot in the same BG. BGBuddy logic is very good, the only problem is the amount of users using bgbuddy in BG's, and the fact that it uses the same logic for all of them. So yes, while it may seem more human like than just pathing, the logic fails if there are 3-4 toons doing a conga line through AB or w/e. If you NEVER get another bot of your faction in your BG with you, then you are absolutely golden. But seriously, what are the chances of that?

 

Alrighty, so everybody says that BGB is only useful and safe in Alterac Valley and seeing that Alterac Valley yields the most XP / hr anyway, why bother with other BG's ? They are both unsafe and give way less XP. Not worth it.

 

Because EVERYONE has that train of thought. And when you bot AV and see a line of HB users 15 deep, I think you will get your own answer as to why I avoid AV. Yes it gives the most xp/hr, it usually also has the highest concentration of bots.

 

Well we can all be assured that bg-buddy isn't randomizing stuff in a greater sense that it lets all players do the same "random" stuff. Stopped using it after the first day.
