I just have a question about how exactly a ban happens. I know if you're botting 24/7 and a player reports you, you'll get banned. But I mean like, say im just questing, because thats all I really do with HB, is it possible to get banned if I'm only doing it a few hours at a time and no player reports me. I guess what I'm saying is there some way for blizz to just scan players for tendencies that flag them as a bot. I'm usually supervising the bot, but sometimes I put it on for like an hour or so after I go to bed.

TLDR:Does blizzard have some special way of tracking bots.

      Nobody knows.

Accs got banned after 2hrs of questing, other are botting their 65th char through questing and still arent banned.

Follow common sense and you will be fine.

The only known method to find cheaters is via Warden, which can't detect Honorbuddy right now.

      Any confirmation on this?

Also can bans be retroactive, for example, if I didn't use the bot from today onward, could they ban me for using the bot 2 weeks- a month ago?

Which part of it? That Honorbuddy isn't detected?

Well it would be a privacy violation if warden could be able to see all the programs running by the PC. The program has under surveillance on the WoW part of the rams. That's what I know, I might be mistaking about what Warden really does, but definitely it doesn't detect what I run on the rest of the memory.

      1. HB has a tripwire should the code it has implemented be looked at by Warden, HB would be shut down from use.
      2. Can you be banned for prior botting? Yes. Wether it's due to logs, monitoring or Blizzard discovering a function HB calls and then going back to see who's client called that function in the past few months etc.
      3. Does Blizzard have a special way. No and yes. Warden. They rarely perform large updates on it, when they do it tends to be before new major patches. But as far as I'm aware Warden can still be changed on the fly and given set instructions to look into something.
      4. Should you be worried? No. I've not suffered a loss or any trouble in my few years of using HB. The only trouble that has ever occurred with Buddy products was an unfortunate period where the old GatherBuddy used the same function as another bot/hack. Blizzard went after this hack, GatherBuddy was caught in the middle unfortunately and I do believe the tripwire was non functioning at the time. *This was VERY long ago*.
As it stands, HB's protection has been solid for a long time. There have been no banwaves recorded at all. Yes there are bans, usually due to user error or reports, not the program being flagged.
Also if it helps you feel safe, the current lawsuit against Buddy Products. Clearly Blizzard see's the Buddy Team as a force to be reckoned with.

      That should answer things.

Yea I heard they are after the creators of HB :))
Imo, we take the saying " Fuck the Police!" and say " Fuck the Blizzard!, we do what we want ^^ "

I feel so badass right now :D

if hb team should lose a lawsuit. is there user logs that can show connected or used wow accounts on hb's servers that blizz can reach if they demand to confiscate the servers in case of a lost lawsuit?

*TinfoilHatOn* Some Keylogger attached via HB which will track all your data.

Be serious, even if blizzard would ask for it, which is highly unlikely, Bossland would never do this.

Ur saying HB has a keylogger attached to it? Or it can be attached?
Also highly doubt the lawsuit is for getting the database of users, most likely to shutdown this operation.

Blizz got glider shut down, and my glided accounts didn't get the ban hammer after.
