So I brought gold about 50k lol and I get this message the next day this is my first time buying gold on this account and its a funny message no warnings no bans just how i can impact WoW with buying gold, And I have been botting on these accounts for 6 hours a day. Going to lay off botting on them for a few days but yea just wanted to share this

      Greetings,

      Account Name: WOW1

In light of some recent activity on your World of Warcraft account, we?d like make sure you?re aware of the negative impact that buying gold from third-party companies has on the World of Warcraft community -- as well as the potential consequences for players who are found to be using such services.

Every day, we encounter players who have been victims of in-game scams or whose Battle.net accounts have been stolen, and who log in one day to find their characters? inventories have been stripped of gold and other valuable items. The overwhelming majority of these scams and thefts are conducted by unethical third-party companies that sell stolen gold to other players for real money. Accounts of players who choose to buy gold and support these exploitive companies may be subject to a variety of account penalties, including the removal of purchased gold so it can be returned to the rightful character.

Third-party gold-selling companies frequently prey upon dedicated players -- often including their own customers -- without regard to the disruption their actions cause to the game and other World of Warcraft players. Ultimately, without players? support, these companies have no way to continue their unethical actions, and that?s why we encourage the community to refrain from using their services.

Additional information on the negative impact of purchasing gold, as well as some important information on how you can protect your account from theft, can be found on our website at:Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

Thank you for helping us keep World of Warcraft a fun and safe environment for all of our players.

      Regards,
      Blizzard Entertainment

There are safe methods to do while buying gold. I always do it via auction house method or, Guild bank transfer method.

      An improper spelling of "bought."

So they think you bought gold and then they didn't remove it? Goddamn they've gotten soft. Or have they always been?

I bought a BoP mount the other day for 100k, surprised I didn't get a temp ban or something for transferring that large of an amount face-to-face. Maybe their logs record what items were exchanged and someone sees it and makes the call..?

I've bought gold several times.. 100k each some times. Have done so for the last 5-6 months and never received a warning. All done face-to-face using the trade window.
No idea how they "caught" you.

I was trading gold for game time face to face and never got an email. I was doing for 2 accounts for months. I would send the gold from my main to my other account then f2f trade it. I traded 85k twice when I bought the year of game time for the contract thing. After about 5 months all my RAF time was removed and I was told they would be adjusting my account to re-start the year time period. I said I would cancel my contract and they just left it at November.

It's a bit strange they let you be but one possibility is that the seller was logged in via an IP address they flag and monitor like wowtunnels or something of that sort. Perhaps they nailed the seller but issued a warning to you.
