Really? working on dungeon buddy is more of a priority then fixing the current problems? Dont get me wrong i love the idea of dugeons but if more basic bots like arch or even grind bot are useless how do u plan on making an extremely complex bot work? correct me if im wrong but shouldnt the bots already implemented be completly 100% bug free before moving onto bigger projects? I personally being a bricklayer know that its easier and faster to finish the 1st task at hand before taking on more/bigger tasks to ensure my projects are always quality, I really hope hb isnt trying to push quantity over quality as it feels like its heading that way.
      Anyways just my 2 cents

100% bug free? nothing really is 100% bug free. And what I have been reading is DungeonBuddy was started months ago so they been working on it before all these issues have come up. Yes there needs to be some fixes for things but I don't see nothing which really needs to be fixed ASAP.

each to their own but arch buddy stoppin issues have been there longer then dungeon buddy, grind bot back tracking hotspots is a MAJOR issue for those of us who make gold of things other then herb/mine, bg buddy is border line, hb's stuck handler needs a TOTAL overhaul as if ur stuck in a tree atm it cant get unstuck, etc etc you cannot tell me that dugeon buddy has any sort of priority over those major issues NOT to mention there are alot of other issues concering attaching issue's with the bot. At the end of it all how can someone expect to start something complex to add onto its current product when the current product has some concerning issues. It would be like having a car thats fairly rundown needs a good service and then deciding to build a motorbike, yes the motorbike would be hell fun but if your car has major problems its should have priority to be fixed. Its all about prioritys

      My opinion

I think that you are forgetting that designing software is a really dynamic process, yes some of the core features should be prioritised but it's constant development, from reading your earlier post I appreciate your brick laying example. However, it's software which will never be "complete" as world of warcraft itself will never be complete, hotfixes every Wednesday or content updates could put development back and actually halter the hb service for a short time. It is a perfect time for them to work on dungeon buddy and to perfect it, the production cycle of wow itself is slow now as content updates have stopped as it gears up to the release of mist of pandaria. I would rather they work on dungeon buddy now and get it working in the current state of the wow engine, so when the next content updates come (pre-mop patch) it would just require small hotfixes, similar to the state of honourbuddy now. It makes more sense to do it now, than to try release new software nearer pandaria as it will be much harder then to stay closer to the wow patch cycle. :)

i dont think your understanding my point or im not putting it across the right way. to be blunt as blunt can be despite the devs saying different people are working on different projects is the saying 'MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK'. Putting all your eggs in different baskets i can understand HOWEVER whats the point of doing it if your eggs constantly break. I guess this is a complex senerio like 'what came first? the chicken or the egg?' and the reason why software is always buggy is because everyones after the next best thing. Plain and simple yet take 2 of the oldest trades in the world Bricklaying and Whores, both are simple tasks because they have been mastered over time not because people went omg lets try something else they said 'if it aint broke why fix it' which is exactly why they are the 2 oldest professions known to man. Software could be on a similar standard if they fix current systems rather then looking for an easier way to do it, but i guess its just how things are done in the computing world.

I think you don't understand, It's something which can never be fixed, its similar to how very large buildings require constant painting as by the time they get to the end they need to start again, they arn't looking for everything new every second for the sake of it, they are just trying to implement new features which have been largely asked for, they would not have a chance of doing this during a high working patch cycle as all their developers would have to be concentrated on one thing as you suggested.

At the moment they can get away with division of labour which you must agree is a fundamental part of the creation process, you cant get everyone too do the same one job at the same time, especially in programming, where multiple programmers can actually slow down the production process as different programmers have different solutions to the same problems, now these solutions wont always integrate with fixes/solutions by other programmers. I for instance find it easier to program something from scratch than to work my way through someone else's code and implement fixes, so I doubt the problem arises from division of labour. You cant say that the computing world works that why by using an age old industry like construction as an example, that's like me comparing genetic biology to using leaches as a form of medication.

If you follow moores law then you will see the computing industry is growing exponentially faster than construction ever has. It's a constant battle between wow developers and the honourbuddy devs as both continually use new technology and tactics to out manoeuvre each other, what im saying in a blunt way is, they are doing this now because it's easier than doing it closer to the release of the next game, as egg-baskets will break at a much faster rate, they are trying to be in a position which they can offer various types of bots but be able to fix the baskets as soon as they break. By offering a wider variety of services then they ensure that you can still level a character if one of them goes down, if honourbuddy goes down to a new patch by blizzard then theres a chance that dungeonbuddy will be online, then we will at least have some service while they implement a fix.

It's also a learning curve for them, as they try to create new bots for new things all of their bots will gain more robust algorithms and will most likely last longer than previous versions.

1st off painting is solely for looks not the solid structure itselfs which remains intact and if it isnt built correctly in the 1st place would be torn down(next time you try to use a building reference ensure you reference it the correct way). Secondly there is not a single reason you have come up with as to why dungeon buddy should take preference over issues that where once working well then got broken.

All youve said is in order for HB to progress is to create bigger and better things rather then fix current problems which then arises more issues such as when the bigger and better issues break(and you said youself it will never be bug free) will they fix it or just create something different. Alot of what ur saying is simply flawed for example offering alot of services is great HOWEVER if they are incomplete and unfinished then it will only be a matter of time before those become major issues such as grind bot back tracking hotspots - ITS LOOKS BOTTISH so player reports increase aswell which increases blizzards awareness and potential threat to hb(would be easy to track issues like that) ASWELL as arch buddy getting stuck in the same spots all blizzard needs to do is set up a system to watch those certain area's(if they havnt already) what would be the point of dungeon buddy if 2 major issues got a large % of hb's player base banned beyond recovery(remembering banwaves are harder to recover from now then they have ever been).

As for the computing industry growing faster then construction ever has? You sir are obviously living in a computer. There has and always will be a need for construction as a human hand is the basis of any civilization. A computer regardless of its speed of evolution will never be the base of a civilization as the human hand made it. Remember for every person who uses a computer they need a place to store it in, places to store servers in etc etc. The be all and end all is without construction computers are useless.

As for many hands make light work as old as it may be its a simple and 100% correct statement that noone on this planet can argue with. The simple fact is HB has issues that shouldve been resolved prior to releasing new content. There is no point argueing this issue as people have different opinions(which all you have said is your own where as mine is the base of life as we know it). Simple to the point 'if it aint broke dont fix it' 'if it is broke FIX IT' anyways thats enough ranting from me its just a shame the simple issues are getting overlooked regardless of the current project being worked on(cause im sure like everything else will be working great for abit then will break so they work on something else)

Im living in a house that was built 100 years ago, I am using a computer that i built in 2008, new computers to date have totally different architecture and power than the one i built in 2008, while new houses down the road are pretty similar to my 100 year old house. Computers will never be the base of civilisation. Really? What world are you living in, computers are already the base of civilisation, with commerce, banking, education. Even cities are beginning to be run by big mainframes, it's even crossing over into the construction business with "smart" materials being using in houses to control electricity and regulating water supply. Houses dont change much because it's a polished industry, Computing is just getting started but the technology is DOUBLING ever 18 months, has that happened in contruction?. "Many hands make light work is a correct statement that no-one on the planet can argue with" Really? I'm arguing with it, from a programmers perspective mutliple people can be a hinderance, unless the code is well documented and well planned, but remember honour buddy isn't legitimate software that had 100% creative freedom or planning, it's entire code is based on fundamentally manipulating code by other developers, so they need to work within those parameters, every time those parameters change the code breaks.

I know that you're saying that you don't want dungeon buddy, but rather they concentrate on the core system. I can sort of agree with this. However, I would much rather they do this now than when it really hurts. By the looks of it they plan on doing it either way, so just as well get it over with now. Although I feel that for different games such as ToR, they need a different member of staff to work on it, the parameters to the game are different to that of wow so a new developer wouldn't have to content with the attempts of a previous bot designer. I don't suggest division of labour on wow as the original bot developers have the knowledge for this particular engine, but it would be like starting a fresh on ToR's engine anyway.

And for the record, I've been botting for couple of years now, and not only wiht HB but with other bot program so I know what I'm talking about here.......

lvl 47 is still too low for the time that HB has been on (3 weeks with 1 weekend break)..............:(

And total played time is not include the time that HB has been down for me. I started this druid 3 weeks ago and in the meanwhile, I only has botted 1 weekend of AV for some gear on my other toons. Normally with HB working, my Druid should be lvl 70 by now....................

And am I asking too much to ask the dev to take a look at it??

And also, this is not a profile problem, I update (kick's) profile often enough to know that it is working as it should be.
Secondly, I turn HB on when I go to bed or when I go to work, and I cannot check it in the meanwhile (timewindow of 12 hours atleast), and HB often crash itself in that timewindow meaning that I cannot close it and reopen it........and last, I don't think I should close and reopen HB just to make it running ace again. It should run without constantly crashing (in my case).
I know most of you say that "HB is a complex program and it will alway have bugs"......and I agree, but the way HB crashes when I use it, it's more than normal! Again, using my druid as example: 3 weeks "non-stop botting" with 1 weekend stop only takes me to lvl 47..................if you don't see the frustration I'm having, you need to step away from your desk and PC and start thinking about something else than "HB is the greatest and anyone who says it isn't, has issues"

So I sincerely ask the dev to please take a look at my problem, I've provide more than enough logs in the past coupel of days/weeks.......(see my post history........)

Would look rather nice when using DB and it starts to backtrack to recap hotspots.

      Many BOT-screams it will be

1st things first would be nice.

Other than that i think DB will be a kickazz botbase.

HB has problems sure, but I can tell you if you level a human anything with questing bot, kicks profiles I can get from 1 to 80 in 3 days play time. And I have a ton of 85's. I always full rest at 80 and 83 cause it takes to long otherwise. I never grind sure way to get reported. Questing from 1-80 takes very little attention to correct problems. A few restarts etc. So you got something jacked up... just saying

But I am using the human (eatern kingdom) profile from kick, and that's what frustrate me :(

And yes, I understand that HB won't go from 1-85 without any problem, but HB just crash on me on every session (yes, every session, meaning every day) vary from 5 min to 3 hours run time...........

Have you enabled the plugin's required for kick's profiles? useitem etc? What OS you using? Are you using Full screen or windowed? A lot of things can cause a crash other than HB. The latest HB gets stuck sometimes on light posts and such and won't unstick itself :( Also there are some targeting issues with Singular.. What cc are you using.

1.) All Kick's plugins are enabled
      2.) Window7
3.) WoW runs on windowed mode

I only have issues with the lates HB, the other version before 5883 ran nice. With occasional crashed and what not, but never this kind of problem.

Hmmm, I know there are some serious issues but I can't say that I am having that kind of trouble. I am leveling 2 toons both at 23 right now and only a few hours played time on them. I run in Full screen windowed mode just fine. Windows 7 x64 with 3 session at one time. I have heard of Tony and some others doing a remote assist before.. Maybe that's an option if they still do it. I have totally stopped using AB until it is fixed back the way it use to be.. Just to many stuck in tree issues for me. not that kicks me off all the time.
