Hello I was looking through the forums but had not seen anything with this bot for functionality on this, but was curious if someone may be developing one. Just something that would constantly send your companion(s) out to Harvest, and possibly have an option for them to craft items also. Thanks
It can do half of that for you now. You'd have to set up a profile that had it grind in the areas where you wanted it to harvest. It would then loot any of the ground spawn for whatever trade skills you have. It would also handle any combat that might happen due to running around overland. Otherwise it doesn't have any capabilities to actually *do* the crafting right now. I'd hazard a guess that someone would be able to write a plug-in that might be able to handle that, but that's beyond my skill level to grok.
It does pick up nodes. But dont think it 'skins' the beast for bio or robots for scavenging. There is few spots I've hand farmed just for bio mats before bot. Would like bot to be able to 'skin' Would be nice to have a crafting type thing like in HonorBuddy. Set certain companions to just farm mats, while other companions make the items. One with +5 crit on cybertech or something like that. Then reverse engineer the parts in bag, or mail to bank alt, or vendor. Ahh the good ole days when I used to prospect ore to gems just to vendor back in wow days.
Rumor has it that they will be adding in a mod for the crafting aspect. I noticed what you're talking about the lack of skinning from a dead critter (bio or mechanical appropriate). So I agree that it should check on looting if it can re-loot due to a crew skill.
