because the bot for this game may not have much of a future. it's probably barely worth selling right now. so why would they place requirements on themselves to support this bot for years and years when it may have a very very small customer base.
The game isn't going anywhere. If WAR is still around with the amount of money that was thrown into SWTOR it will be around for at least 3-5 years. It may go F2P sooner then later, but it isn't going away anytime soon.
i would say it all depends on how the devs go about updating the game, cause i doubt WoW had 2 mil subs at launch, but now it has ~10 mil....there is still hope for swtor, as i said it's all how the devs go about with the updates...
wow's subs have gone no where but up (at least till it reached 10mill) swtor didn't even reach 2mil and is steadily dropping. by the time MoP comes out its going to be dead, and games like GW2 is just going to seal its fate.
don't think wow had a stable uprise in subs from launch, i also think they had a decline at some point...and i doubt that swtor will ever die out, even with MoP, there is a reason why wow has lost alot of subs in cata expansion, and i don't think MoP is gonna rectifiy that... and getting anywhere between 15-25 mil $ a month from subs ain't exactly bad if you ask me
No game will ever reach as big as WoW did. There is just too many games out now to play. Much more options now, then back then. I'm sure the game will keep going, just will never reach epic record breaking heights
^^ this. The MMO market has changed. I don't think any MMO will ever reach 10 million again since there's simply too many choices. WoW will remain big simply because it's been around the longest (yeah, yeah, there were MMOs before WoW but they were, simply put, utter crap). SWTOR isn't gonna die. Just like WAR and DDO and STO aren't dead. Heck, even Planetside is still very much alive.
In some countries blashemy like that is punishable by death! Don't mock my dear beloved Asheron's Call in other words
