When I first started using gatherbuddy I decided to use 1 specific character to hold all of the gold I made, just to see how long it would take to reach gold cap on a level 80. I loosely logged the approximate time spent farming (sometimes it would dc while I was asleep) and in approximately 240 hours farming, and roughly another 50 hours or so slowly posting auctions as to not cripple the economy, I managed to hit that magical 214,748g cap. I used 90,000 of it to buy reigns of the swift spectral tiger, and I'm planning on spending 60-75k on the el pollo grande mount in the near future. So thanks gatherbuddy, you've successfully geared 3 alts in boe epics, earned me the coolest mount in the game, and done most of it while I was asleep. For those of you that would like to achieve results similar to mine: First, I suggest your botter be on a separate account with a separate name, and not linked by credit card payments to your main. Second, I would put it in a guild with your crafting characters, so you can easily swap stuff around using the gbank. I used a level 80 unholy spec dk with epic flying, with maxed out herbalism and maxed out mining My other botting character was a level 80 druid feral spec with maxed skinning and maxed tailoring I filtered quite a bit of the mats in to my crafting characters as follows Maxed xmute alch + leatherworker Maxed Blacksmith + engineer Maxed jewelcrafting + enchanter (though enchanting didnt really help any) Maxed potion spec alch + enchanter Maxed elixir spec alch + scribe Main thing to keep in mind: Don't flood the economy all at once. Send the mats and craft them in to stuff, and slowly trickle them in. Buy out people that undercut you by a lot and repost at your price. Really I only spent an hour a day or so messing with the market, most of that was logging between alts to craft stuff and post it. Cheers and goodluck.
Well, I had went to the neutral AH to buy some pets from ally side to go for pet achieves, when for lulz I searched the mount section and saw it for 90k buyout. I'm not sure if the person didn't know its value or what, but he could have ebayed and bought far more gold than he got through the AH. Oh well though, his loss my gain.
