[OFFICIAL][Patch 5.0.4] Honorbuddy will be offline for a week (or more)

Ok let me break it down for you guys that think you know about making wow bots but really dont. Most of the time when a patch comes out all the changes that are needed to be made is to update the Offsets to the new version of the client. When creating new software versions the hex binary code gets changed and reconfigured. Thus changing the Hex code of some of wow's engines functions. So what happens is devs have to go in and basically reverse engineer the new patch and update the new offset values in the bot of these functions that did get changed or added. Not all the time each patch does the values change on all of the values but some do usually.

So unless HB was adding a ton of new stuff or making changes with how the bot works from the previous version i dont see why you guys think it would take so long. I mean the core bot nothing should have to change. Maybe adding some new files to the Meshes. But its not like this patch just like broke hb's prior stuff it did it just has changed values so unless they are overhauling it i dont see why you guys would call it a major update.

Now as far as updating Offset Address's is pretty simple once you know how and what you are looking for or you could just goto OwnedCore and look at Apoc's post of updated offset's.

Also i could use a bots source code from say 4.0 and the bot will still work on 5.0.4 if as long i updated the offsets, and as long as the functions the bot used was still being used in wow's engine as well. Just like how you can still use or could still use Gatherbuddy 1 even though gatherbuddy 2 was out. There where no major changes really to the bots core except for having to update offsets.

Answer: No, you just expect it to be working when you get it back.

Statement: Wait for HB to get its once a lifetime service.

 

Well in mine opinion there should be only a message earlier than a day before patch, all HB y++ licence users should get an email like two weeks earlier before tha patch that HB will be off for 1 week. This is a huge amount of time - im using 6 licenses and im making money of them, it will cost me about 200 euro and two weeks of work to recover the losses of that suddenly 1 week of break. I thought i bought a complete product, imagine a big product (which for me HB is) like adobe/office/gmail wnet dowen for a week with no real info about it.... Mainly speaking HB is a great product, the support is great also great (but not rlly 24/h, more like reposnse in 24h), but this patch update situation should be better handled as this is a serious making-money aka im living from it program.

 

Rage, drama and stories of people making a living off bots what more do I need on a Sunday.

Hey moaners, and complainers, you would be glad to know you since you spent your time moaning your butts off, honorbuddy should be up soon as apoc is said they will be a test release soonish, it has almost being 7 days time goes flying by when you're having fun

That's funny, you bought a 1 time license (or several) and use it constantly. Now it is up to these developers who facilitate your 'living' to work even harder to get it up and running again? Wow, you should be thanking them for even writing it in the first place and not putting a monthly fee on it like they should have done.

 

ummmm making money from warcraft through bots i.e selling gold is against the terms of wow so you know full well you can get banned, so this is not a legal service for wow, it feels like your a drug dealer complaining that you cant get to your stock ? there is nothing you can do about it you muppit so just grin and bare it !

Please, HB-team, take your sweet time.
I'd rather have a nice and stable HB and wait for another week if necessary, than running buggy debris because the users showed some impatience.

Come on guys quit playing "fanboys" as Maddog so eloquently put it. If you've been using the other Bots they put out then your input here is jaded and while it is your right you should shut yer hole tbh. It's obvious to a lot of us that HB has suffered from inattention lately. That is all there is to it. Look at the update cycles to HB. All of non existent since the announcement of DB compared to before. Numbers don't lie guys.... I love this product and I agree it isn't easy to do what they do, but there have been months of total access time for even one individual with PTR and Beta access to prep for this 5.0.4 release. Stop acting like there wasn't and grow some balls and be honest.

Haha has anyone noticed that battleground queues are longer than ever and they are harder? Each team doesn't have a few bots being useless atm, hoping the bot comes back up soon but take your time! Until it does I'll just flip glyphs .
