You'll want to uninstall all versions of .NET entirely. (Do it from the add/remove programs list, starting with the highest version, and working your way down. Eg; 4.0 -> 3.5 -> 3.0 -> 2.0. Uninstalling whichever is available) You'll eventually get to one that says something along the lines of "uninstalling this program will cause others to not work" (sorry, I can't remember the exact error), when you get there, just hit cancel, and take note of the version. Next; you'll probably want to incrementally reinstall the .NET versions. (You can simply install 3.5 and 4.0 and you'll be fine) Make sure if it asks you if you want to repair, you hit yes. Once you're done all this, restart your computer again (even after the installer itself asks you to restart), and try running HB again. Sometimes the installer doesn't fully setup the machine.config and other base assemblies until an extra restart. (This is a reported bug on Microsoft Connect [MS's bugtracking system]) If this doesn't work, just let me know and I'll see what else I can do to help. Sorry about the nonsense you're running into, but unfortunately we need to do this update to 4.0 to keep things cleaner overall (and we can't really help that MS still hasn't gotten their stuff together )
I only got 4.0 at Add/Remove programs. 1.0, 2.0, 3,5 and so on is in a map, should I remove those? I use Windows 7 btw.
ok, since the last post, theres been a lot that has happened, so run me though what its doing or not doing. and we can take it from there.
